one paycheck late... damn. how often do these specials pop up thru the year? does any one tune shop offer back to back competitors chips for tests on my car? that way i can make a some what experienced purchase rather than base it off what 2fastboosted (sorry if thats a real guy) or the mfgr dyno says.

I will be picking up my 07 GTI on Monday and I am wondering if you guys can find out if this car was chipped or not. Would like to make an appointment for the 6 hour trial flash and found out if its chipped or not.

How do you change between programs after programming has been done? How long does the programming take?

About one hour. The set button on the cruise control stalk allows you to select the from one of the four programs available.

Yes,the stage 2+ software would need to be updated after a full turbo back kit were installed for the best performance.

Got the 6 hour trial, and I can say that I'm not that impressed. I wonder if maybe it didn't get flashed properly or something?

I don't know, but I do know that it doesn't feel much different than stock. Anyone here with a GLI or 1.8t have APR and see a big difference from stock?

I tried Revo and didn't like the instant HP surge and lack of top end. But with the APR trial, it seems like there's not much to notice, and I would assume you'd notice claims of 29hp and 69lb-ft of torque increases. It just wouldn't be worth the $500 bucks in my opinion, but again maybe mine didn't get burned right or something?

It was done right and all codes were cleared after the flash, along with a TB alignment. Here is your burn report minus your info.

Now this makes two companies you are not happy with. Consider a GT30, Forged Rods, Peloquin etc if you really want a major increase.

Hey James. Thanks for the info. I dealt with you over the phone and thought you sounded like a nice guy. However, once I got to your hole in the wall shop and you couldn't get off the phone long enough to even acknowledge that I was there, I realized there might be some issues.

Then, you have your tech or whoever that guy was that chipped me, run through it on the the laptop. You had to show him how to do everything after he bumbled around not knowing what to do.

Then I had to sit there and wait for the burn to take place and wasn't really sure when it would be done as nobody updated me the entire time I sat there and read 4 magazines in silence.

I did say I wasn't happy with Revo because of the fact that it seemed like the HP was too immediate, and felt that all that wheel spin was unnecessary, and that I was wanting to get something that was a little smoother.

You mentioned that the APR didn't give as much HP and TQ as Revo and Garrett, but that it was smoother. Now if by smoother, you mean no different than stock, then I think you were right.

I have to say I'm not surprised at your response here in this public forum, calling me out and basically saying you think my idea of spending $500 to gain an easy upgrade is the wrong approach. Sitting there in your hole in the wall office for an hour waiting for your guy to bumble around and burn the ECU and listening to you on the phone with people made me realize I was probably working with the wrong company to begin with.

You have a very demeaning tone in your voice and it sounds like if people aren't completely satisfied with something, your process is to make the issue their issue and not address the original concern, which was why I wouldn't spend $500 on something that obviously does not feel any different than stock, when I'm sure there are other manufacturers out there who would feel different?

You mentioned to me that you've had hundreds of people come to you and get APR chipped, and that with the ability to return the product within 30 days, that nobody has ever come back and returned it. I'm astonished if that is the case after doing the trial. Maybe I'm too stock or something....

All I know is that I was asking a simple question and making a statement about my subjective view of the APR trial. Either way, at least I know how you are to deal with now, so I didn't spend big money with you to find out the hard way.

One more thing. To address your suggestion of me spending upwards of $4,000 for a "Major Increase" that has got to be one of the most absurd comments I've seen on this forum in years. Let alone the fact it came from a VW shop. Nice advice....

The respectable and or mature thing to do is call or email if you have issues, questions or complaints. Give the business the benefit of the doubt before complaining about a free service on a public forum.

I gave you a sarcastic reply because you put it on the forums and you insinuated that we did something wrong with regards to your Free Trial Service. One bad comment is worse than fifty good ones.

Sorry I was on the phone talking with customers and vendors. The size of the shop keeps our overhead lower along with our prices.

There a several logins and some of these were just changed. You could have asked how long it the process would take. The process normally takes one hour I try to mention this on the phone when the appointments are made. This was also answered in the above thread when you asked.

Revo owners have come in and paid to have APR placed on their MK4.
I don’t care if your car is stock or modified it does not matter to me, No returns to date on APR files.

They are no winners when arguing on the internet. IM or call if you want to continue this conversation.

James, I called you a while ago about the tiptronic fluid and filter service along with setting up a time to get a timing belt service done with one of your techs... Can we still set that up? Also - I was curious if I could come by and get the APR trial in order to wipe my ecu of Revo. I am having some weird throttle sensitivity issues and I was thinking going back to APR stock would cure that. Let me know
