For those that are not aware, some vehicles require labor due to the fact the ECU must be removed from the vehicle.
This involves removing the wipers, rain tray and cutting off the security bolts (snap bolts).
Then the ECU is prised open to be bench flashed, resealed and re-installed using new genuine security bolts. The ECU is then scanned to erase error codes and finally a throttle body adaption is performed. The time to do these tasks depends on the vehicle, but its a 1.5 - 2 hour job. The equipment to bench flash these newer models cost us a few Gs. Only the dealer can flash through the diagnostic port, tuners must open the ECU.

For early models, they are flashed through the diagnostic port.

These vehicles require us to remove the wipers, remove the rain tray, remove the security bolts, then we have to open the ecu and bench flash it. We reseal the ecu, reinstall it with new factory security bolts and the rain tray and wipers are reinstalled.

Not a simple job like plugging into the DLC under the dash, like early cars.

Any APR dealer can connect to your car and verify if it is flashed with an APR tune.
If it is easier for you, you could contact APR in Alabama and give them your vin. They can tell you over the phone if the vin matches their records.

What up? I was wondering if I come in a get99 b5 looked at. It a check engine light and a oil leak. I alsi wanted to get the free tune if still available.
