Might want to check your brake fluid level.

What does this mean. Last week I got in my car started it up, and released the handbrake, I got 3 beeps and the e-brake light flashed 3 times on the dash, then went out. handbrake works fine and so do the brakes. Again just now it happened again. What does this mean? It's not in my manual.

its not the regular brake pad warning lamp though incase anyone thinks that. its the (!) emergency brake lamp. my battery seems to be toast could that be related?

That would be a definate possibility, weird electrical things will happen with really low battery voltages.

it happened to me couple days ago, and tonight again.
battery looks find.
both times it happened after a hard accelaration.
brake pads in the rear seem thin and almost ready for new ones.
im still not sure what it could be.

Happened to me when my rear caliper began to freeze up...replaced the caliper -->no more problem.

Did you ever figure out what this was? Mine has been doing this for almost a year now. I used to have the ABS light along with it, but just yesterday I changed the ABS module, My ABS light is now out. However during any kind of medium -> hard acceleration I still get the old 3 beeps and the e-brake light.
It's sooo annoying! does anyone know whats going on? fluid is fine as well..![]()

I just posted about this in the A4 section. I never have ABS light issues or three beeps, but I now have a continuously on ebrake light. I hope there is a simple explanation for that annoyingly bright red light on the dash.
