Well I thought it wouldn't be too bad of an idea to start a thread for the average Joe's of vwvortex that don't have killer studios or 15 guitars, so we can't post in the "gear whore" thread. So just post up what you have. Even if it a massive studio or just a Squier starter pack. I like my setup:
Sorry if there is already a thread in same manner but I couldn't find it so I pleed ignorance.![]()
edit: and yes I know I need another new chord rather than that two inch one from the amp to my pedals but I gave my sister my other 12 foot chord.

Here it is:My Ovation (Standard Balladeer):
You can't really tell in that picture, but it's a really pretty Cadillac green that they only made for like one or two years - a very nice dark green. My Gretsch:
My Gretsch and it's amp:
The Gretsch is an Electromatic, which is a hell of a nice guitar for the money, and the amp is a H&K Edition Blau 15 watt solid state. The amp is nothing special, though it does have a really nice Celestion speaker in it, and is nice for the money. I am really lusting after something like either a Triamp or a Duotone, but don't have the cash right now!
Oh, and the Ovation gets played through a Marshall Acoustic Soloist, but I don't have any pictures of that for some reason.

Here's my merry band of musical knickknacks.
- Seagull M6 Gloss acoustic
- Hughes & Kettner CC412A 4x12 cab (unloaded - and I don't have anything worthy of powering it anyway)
- Acoustic Control Corporation G20-110 Combo amp (Obtained via "if you can fix it, you can have it")
- Harmony H804, aka Worst...Guitar...Ever (Obtained via "if you can fix it, you can have it")Even the cable was given to me broken. I "repaired" it and it's very loud. The combination of a bad cable, a bad guitar, a bad solid state 80's amp, and a n00b with a pick is quite a sound to behold.
In the next few months, I'll be picking up a Highway One Tele (honey blonde FTW) and a Carvin Vintage 16 tube amp.
Can't.
freaking.
wait.

Hahaha!! The sales guy actually told me "I'm gonna miss that little WhiteStripes kit when it's gone"... 4 years later, he still asks me about it and he's really glad it sold to a player. If you go on the drum shop's website, the "used drum" icon is actually my kit!!
http://www.drumbazar.qc.ca/pages_eng/accueil.aspThey're '75 Ludwig Vistalites... They're friggin' LOUD and even un-muffled, they have a very tight punchy sound to them.. I'll own this kit forever!! I've seen another one on the net once and a few years ago, there was one on the cover of Modern Drummer... You don't see them around very much!!
Another pic from the gig thread... They look their best in the dark with lighting from the back shining through them:

i just picked up a guitar yesterday...
(real pics when i find my camera)
changed the pickups to Dimarzio Evolutions (bridge) and Dimarzio PAF Pros (neck). took out the single coil, and took off the tone knob and threw the volume knob where the tone was... put a 3 way pu selector, and thinking about putting a small kill switch where the volume knob used to bebasically this is to hold me over til my musicman petrucci gets in!
i also have an 02' gibson sg with dirty fingers, dual rectifier tremoverb half stack (road ready)..
as far as recording i've got my macbook, m audio mobilepre, yamaha hs80m monitors, sterling audio st55 condenser mic, and an sm57

My beloved pedal assortment.![]()
I can make about any noise/sound you'd like (or not) to hear.
I also love plugging straight into an amp from time to time as well.
I have an early 52' reissue tele that I play most.
I also have an 82' American Strat (from the lean years of Fender).
My recent guitar purchase was an Agile Double Cut-away LP knockoff.
Any guitar dudes out there should check them out, pretty awesome guitars for Korean made, low-price reps.
As for amps I have a 1964 Guild Thunder 1 that has 'that' sound to it that you can't reproduce with newer amps.
My big amp is a 212 Hot Rod Deville that I got a tube burner attenuator for so I can turn it way way up to saturate the tubes and not get the way way up volume that comes with it.
My bands practice space is a cornucopia of stuff, though, so I actually play through about anything you could rattle off.
I find it makes a better musician to have to switch instruments and gear at a moments notice...many of us get too comfortable with 'our' stuff and blame indecent sounds on our equipment not being right or "I've never played through that before."
The more variety you play through the better you get overall...not to mention a good ear for tonal differentiation.

didn't this thread just happen?Heads: (soon to be expanded on either Marshall Vintage Modern or used Hughes and Kettner tri-amp)
Cab not pictured... Marshall Mode Four over sized... sounds like a Mesa over sized but runs at 16ohms... lil cleaner sounding than a mesa i thought i played them side by side...
Guitars:
(if anyone wants to ask what they are i can list em out if wanted)
and a lil bigger i've been cleaning up...
a 1939 Gibson GA-9 amp

Modified by vdubCorrado at 1:34 AM 3-24-2008thanks bro! yeah mine is a 61 reissue but its actually a 1991 guitar.
as for the middle pickup issue, i agree with it getting in the way but i worked out a sweet "mod" to drop it into the body so its not in the way at all now. i will post my method soon along with a les paul "short shifter" mod for the PU switch. im gonna do a "my gibson mods" thread soon with detailed pix so keep an eye out.

but i gotta ask... do you ever use the middle pickup or was it reall just for the "look" cause i agree they look fantastic! cause if you actually use it droping the magnets that far away from the strings is really gonna mess with the way it sounds
cause all pickups are are electric passive magnets that pickup the frequency the string are vibrating at so the further the magnets the harder the time it will have sensing the frequency

no i dont use the middle one on a regular basis at all. i dont use the neck pickup either. i play in a heavy-gain band and i always have it on the treble pickup turned all the way up. full bright saturation.
i have used the middle pickup at home just messing around and playing blues or whatever. having the middle pickup further away doesnt change anything frequency-wise, it just makes the sound less pronounced than the others.
i have the treble pickup screwed up as close to the strings as possible to get a bright full tone out of it, which is what i mainly use. the neck pickup is a sweet warm round bluesy sound thats great for jazz or whatever. and the middle one is a mixture of both. all 3 pickups are gibson 57PAFs, they are clean and warm sounding, and good for all types of music.
the best sound i have found for my band and tone is using my les paul classic which has a 500T pickup in the bridge- this pickup is very "hot" and saturated, and played thru a boogie around 70% gain will produce crushing tone. so ive got a little of everything
PS click the link in my sig and you can hear the SG in action.
