So I've got to ask it here because to me, it seems there's a lot of people looking away, whistling, twiddling thumbs... and then sliding out the door about comments. I want to ask the vortex sports community:

How do you feel about the Alabama fan teabagging the LSU fan?

The reason I ask is because 1) I consider myself an avg white male that went to college and participated in my share of drinking/parties/etc, 2) I'm a Bama fan in LSU land, 3) my opinions may be completely out of line.

Here, I'll put myself out there on that limb: I don't see the incident as that big of a deal, at least as big as it's being made.

There seems to be quite a large amount of extremists about the teabagging and it's not just coming from Louisiana, its coming from Alabama too. They are literally calling this "sexual assualt" equivelant to what Sandusky has (allegedly) done. Lots are calling for the attacker to be a registered sex offender for the rest of his life. Also, some want the people there at the Krystal's watching to be charged for allowing a sex crime and not interfering. They are also saying that the teabagging was worse than Updyke poisoning the oaks at Toomer's Corner.

Maybe it's because I grew up in my college years with Jackass/Johnny Knoxville/Bam. I don't know, but I don't see this THAT big of an issue. Was it stupid? Yes. Do I condone it? Hell no. Should the victim press charges? No, but he needs an apology while laughing it off over a beer.

It's pretty much the biggest news story right now in Alabama, Louisiana, and most SEC campus.

Fixed. I haven't heard anything about this in Athens or during a quick trip to Knoxville. Probably because no other fanbase in the SEC cares.

Should charges be pressed? Meh. Maybe. The LSU kid didn't appear to know the Bammer fan. Crap happens, and crap happens more often with two big fanbases loaded up on alcohol in the same place during a big weekend. I'd probably chalk it up to that and move on. Typical Bammer fans being typical Bammer fans.

    I agree.

Also I am absolutely surprised how many people are wishing him more Ill and also wishing him his death. I understand what he did and didnt do, so to speak. But to wish a man his death is cold. Let the maker decide what he did wrong. J Paterno is one of the greatest coaches ever. Sad and unfortunate way to finish his legacy.

EDIT: Some great videos from ESPN and Paterno's Legacy.

If there are sanctions, and I'm not discounting the possibility, I don't think Oregon will face as severe of penalties as USC did. Leaving this close to signing day is going to be a bigger deterrent for recruits than the sanctions, IMO.

he will fail at the NFL level

every team has that speed. Running around Stanford gets a lot harder when you play a team who is just as fast on defense.

Also Auburn and LSU figured out that offense

I think he should take his punishment (if one is handed down) and stay put

As a Duck fan I'd hate to see Kelly go. His teams had an incredibly entertaining style of football. I also don't think our style will work in the NFL, at least not without a QB like Vick or Cam Newton.

Rumors also say that Phil Knight and UO has been talking with Boise St's coach to come in as a replacement.

Oregon would have a fair amount to throw at a buyout clause, but it looks like it doesn't matter anymore! Chip is staying!

No real incentive to move onto NFL where you can easily be replaced if you don't produce wins fast

Thats Big 12 talk. The incentive to move to the NFL is pretty big... and the pay isn't close. It's at least 2x as much in the NFL. The problem is, coaching NFL and coaching college is two completely different animals. College coaches get to choose their players, while NFL coaches have to go through a lottery. Thats why control freaks like Saban and Spurrier did poorly in the NFL.

Elite college coaches are clearing $5M+. Jim Harbaugh signed a deal for what, like $6M? Not to mention that cost of living will be lower in places like Gainesville, Tuscaloosa, and Norman than in places like NYC, Miami, and San Francisco. I see the appeal compared to the NFL.

Also, if you think Spurrier is a control freak you are greatly misinformed. He's always been known for being very laissez faire by coaching standards.

That's a losing proposition. Notre Dame should join CUSA (the newly depleted version) or MAC if they want to regularly compete for league championships and qualify for automatic bowl bids.

I thought Saben was highest paid at 4M a year?

the NFL will pay more way more if need be. Im sure the 9ers would have gladly made Harbaugh the highest paid coach if they knew what they were getting this year

That's a losing proposition. Notre Dame should join CUSA (the newly depleted version) or MAC if they want to regularly compete for league championships and qualify for automatic bowl bids.
As much as that's true, they will never join a "mid-major". They should be in the Big10, geographically, and academically it makes sense. Plus, you know, the Big10 is so bad they still might be able to compete with Indiana and Northwestern
