Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - XBox 360

Figured I start a COD4 thread dedicated to the XBox 360. The other seemed to go into PC terms.

Does anyone have the game yet?

I picked it up a little over two hours ago. Pretty impressive. The beginning sequence is cool and even better when you're in the car. I have not played MultiPlayer yet but plan to once I get a little further in the game.

i wasn't planning on picking this up, but after seeing the pics on the other thread, my 360 maybe getting another friend... after already buying 3 this past weekend

I called around a lot today but no stores had it on the floor. Most stores were listing Nov 5th as the release date but they're all telling me I have to wait until midnight tonight. The jerks!

I'll be on tonight for sure. Can't wait to play it.

Tell me about it. This morning I went to Toys R Us, Target, WalMart, Best Buy, Circuit City, KMart, and Gamestop. None knew anything except CC and GS. Gamestop from two different locations said they were un-attainable without a reservation. But two hours before their delivery they said a couple would be offered.

Yeah, the official release date is the 6th. A bunch of reviews go live this evening for those who want to read more.

I got it for ps3 (not a fanboy, I have 360 & ps3) and all I have to say is wow. It is such a fun game and the online play is really good, too.

How does this compare to GRAW in terms of squad tactics and open endedness? The IGN review mentioned that the missions were very linear.

I've only played GRAW Demos.

My observation is that nothing happens until you secure/achieve an objective. They definitely cover your butt and actually kill your enemy. But you have to advance and move around. For instance: you have to cross a certain point or have to kill a certain amount of enemy for your team to advance.

Running is such a great advantage. 1-5 bullet kills are wonderful as well. Compared to other "full clip" games.

I take this back. Sometimes after you shoot your enemy, they aren't dead. They are just down or injured. Awesome when you think they're dead and you stroll around getting shot from every which way, lol.

I started playing on..I think Regular? Its a bit too easy. So far its good - I'm not as blown away as I was expecting, but its definitely worth the money. Still a little too COD style for me, lol...(ie. linear levels, no inventive objective accomplishments, killing TONS of bad guys) but its good, and should be a blast on multiplayer.

I am curious why the opening level features most of the cliche phrases from ALIENS, anyone else pick it up? Not complaining, just funny. Also, RSV got me addicted to adding/removing silencers, and having fire-selection --- how do you select semi-auto fire for your guns? I am wasting lots of bullets.

Only played a level or two, but I have a 4 day weekend coming up, so I'm sure I'll burn through it all --- then pick up Kane and Lynch next week

Picked it up on lunch today and now its just sitting in my car. I cant wait to get home from work and finally play this. Ive been dying to get back on since the beta ended.... Only an hour and half more to go

A little heads up - it looks like you can buy this at Circuit City and get a free copy of COD3. COD3 sux, but you can take it to WalMart and get a $30 according to some people, even w/o a reciept. People are also saying that this game is ringing up at CC for only $30, a glitch by CC. heres a link to a thread on game: http://www.gamespot.com/xbox36...39212

The sounds in this game are really well done. Bullets really sound as though they're flying overhead, behind you, and everywhere else.
