This just in. Macro Economics is the so freakin boring I think i would rather be stabbed by a pencil.

Tiff/Andrew - cabby is ready for pick up. The seal on the speedo hole looks good but there is a small bent piece of metal that might not allow for a perfect seal. The burning smell is oil leaking onto the header. The fix would be to do a valvecover gasket. Also..I drilled a small hole in the rear of the pan on the driver side to let all the water out. After a few days with the window down it's about dry.

I also lowered the idle to 900 and tightened up the clutch a little.

That's how we did it back home..my buddy Danny would scan my car and I would buy him dinner, coffee, etc. It pays for itself. I was going to throw Lee a 10 spot for scanning my car when he offered.

Jason, thanks a TON man. For a second I thought you meant a hole in the oil pan... I was kinda concerned. Tiff is going to get that exhaust put on in a couple weeks, I've got a new O2 sensor in the mail for it too. That idle likes to creep back up on it's own... I have adjusted it a couple times already. Didn't they have "bird ****" on them from the factory to keep them from moving? If you want to cruise the town though in the drop top before she picks it up feel free - just keep your mudflap down...

Nate says no for now on the wheels...

Andrew - I don't know if they had the birdcrap like we see on the aircraft but if the rubber o-ring is good...it shouldn't move...I say...shouldn't

Kathy - I was there from 7-7:30. Saw your car but never saw you. When I left I saw a lot of old domestic classics at Toys R Us. There was also a race today at the track...probably contributed to the low turnout.

I was going to bring out the 16vT but we had to run by target and tractor supply so that car makes a HORRIBLE errand runner.

Snate - the eagle landed today.

There ended up being around 15 cars or so out there that night.
The Hot Rods had their cruise in down at Toys R us starting at 4pm.
We are going to make this a regular thing for everyone, so just mark the 2nd Saturday of the month at 7pm, although we could come a little earlier and hang out with the Hot Rods too.

I was there but way late at like 9:00 pm. There was still some folks out there though. to anybody that want to help somebody that dosent know what he is doing. I need to change my transmissoin fluid because im getting some gear grinding when i shift to third and sometimes when i down shift i want to see if that would help a little bit but i think it is my syncros though. I also got the car scanned at advance today and it said i have an evap system leak and i dont know how to find out where its at. So if anyone want to help me out that would be cool.

Is your car a 5spd? Were all In afghanistan for a while so kinda hard to help. o2j's aren't known to be the strongest transmissions....I suggest looking in the transmission forums....but it takes 2.45 quarts of 75w90.GL4 ONLY! no plus. anything else is too slippery for the syncros and may cause more harm then good. trust me I know from experience

P.S. The fill/drain is a 17mm allen wrench I believe? Andrew correct me if I am wrong. hope that helps

17mm on the dot. I don't remember if it's 2.45Qts or 2.1L... or if they convert to the same number anyway...

Use Penzoil Syncromesh and you'll lose some of the gear grind. I did ALOT of research and seems like about 75% of the people who used it swear by it and that's enough for me.

It won't solve the reverse crunch though... you're just going to have to ease it into gear, try giving it a little gas while shifting into R and see if it helps. Seems to work on my wife's Cabby.

Jason, thanks again dude... Tiff said the Cabby is running smooth again. I put in an email to Greg Davis about doing the brakes and what not on the Jetta.

Ummmmmmmmmm.............. on the way home we hit a pothole the size of an elephant, and think something might be messed up i have the assesor coming out tom to take a look down at davis imp. so i hope nothing is wrong.......... so i have to keep drivin the 337 til they hopefully fix it.......... pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease dont get mad, ive been beatin myself up over it.
