Did you add the "and ain't a one of 'em goin anywhere." To imply you're never going to sell me the mk2. Or does it mean all of them are broke and won't move under their own power?

Here is the little guy... such a good looking lab, I watched him on skype for a bit tonight. I think we decided to name him Trent after Trent Reznor.

PS, I loved my 45mins in Germany...

Cute little dog, thought about getting something for Luci. But first we need to have a fenced in place for it. There are two many dogs running around in our neighborhood.

You look so thrilled in that photo!

well all the pothole did was bend the cv axel joint, and maybe minor rippling on the roof, and really bad rear shocks/suspension, so that is why i kept bottoming out on every little crack/bumb in the road. but it is fixable, and even if they total it, i can still go to davis imp. and they will fix it.

Woah...not to be critical, but I drive the $hit out of my cars, and have nailed some stuff, Heck even sheared a wheel off before, and NEVER bent an axle...PLUS im from pothole capitol of the world...wow..just wow that must have been the size of texas to do that...

yea it was pretty big, like about 2ft wide by about 5" deep, and i was doing 60 to an on ramp for I-10, and thought that i bent the wheel, but the doors are stuck on the passenger side.

    Yeah...

Rippled roof + stuck doors + bent CV axle = probably totalled.

that said. one shop said my mk2 was totaled when I took that 1 dent! I had it fixed and the car is perfect. "totalled" is not really applicable if the car still meets the owners criteria of a good car.

yes..it's going into my first rabbit...aka the one that had the 8V, then the 1.8 16V, then the 1.8 16vT, then the 20V and now the 2.0 16V

I think 5 motors is good enough for it

Wolfsburg goes under the knife tomorrow... New brakes, wheel bearing (finally), and oil pan.

Then it goes to Deloach for it's body work the following day I believe for it's new front end.

Rob/Amber - I stopped by and looked at the mk3 today. The ripple on the roof is nothing could probably be removed with paintless dent removal. The door is a little whack but nothin serious at all.

The axle did get fuxored but my bet is that a new CV axle and alignment and the car will be fine.

If it were me...I wouldn't sweat it.

    Hope this is good news.

Awesome news thanks for taking a look. The thing that worries me is the doors. Im not sure how bad they are. But if they can open in close then I would be happy. There is a possibilty the roof ripple was there from the start. Not sure never saw the car in person. It would be ashame to junk that car. I know everyone dislikes mark III but I have always liked them a friend had one in high school and I always thought it was a nice car. I like GLX's they just feel like a solid car. It makes a good DD I think. I also think lower trim and early mk4 are too junky not worth the effort to put time into them. Just my opinion.

the car is solid. Greg and I talked about it for ten minutes. Seriously...only the passenger doors are touching. No overlap. Worst case scenario is the car needs to be put on a frame alignment jig and get pulled a little. If it's any consolation, my show rabbit had to get put on the frame jig to move about MUCH more than you are faced with. But like I said...that's worst case scenario.

I would just get the axle, an alignment and rock it. If the insurance throws you any cash..just pocket it. Greg agreed.

    It still looks DAMN good.

    20V is in the 79.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY ARE GOING TO FIX MY CAR.

Greg will fix it by friday/saturday, and then I have to drive it to Thomas Collision to have them get an estimate on the body work, and then hopefully they can get the car back to normal

Amber - the only thing I would let the collision center do is straighten it out. Leave the small roof dent. It's hardly noticeable.

How did the price of that Caddy go UP $300? Usually when you sell things price goes down when nobody buys it over time....
