You don't have the linkage adjusted right. The gears are there...you just can't find em. Adjust the linkage.

Another easy way to check the for the gear is to disconnect the linkage and manual select the gear you want at the transmission.

Rob - that's a good point about building the show car on base housing!

    This is base housing:

Well I would love to do it in base housing but seeing as I don't have an actual driveway and I only have one parking spot for me and my wife and the spare parking spot is along the street I'll pass. And the hobby shop doesn't have all the tools I need. Also it's my first time doing coilovers on a Mkv and my old mk3 I only barely helped my buddy do it so I def need help with it being my first install of my own. I'll just meet up with some Florida guys that will help out.

And I find it hilarious that the GTD has come back to mesch wheels Totally unplanned eh?

Anyone have some spare lap belts laying around? Ol' dirty Jeep is current daily until I can find some traditional seat belts (triangle over the shoulder style) for the Deez. The whole lap belt only and bolted in seat got old...quick. I need more support to hold me into the dang seat, not to mention the mk1 has the mount holes already on the B-pillar.

You have NO idea. I've been wearing that pair since 2002! I LOVE them.

Nate - Yeah...I'm a mesh wheel fan! No belts though

Sam - no need to get FL boys involved. Wait a couple weeks and we'll get it done. Sowo is not until May 18 which is over two months away. I built a VR mk2 Golf in a month for what it's worth

Build started on 7/17/11...I was driving it to work just 4 weeks after...
    http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...use-I-want-to.

That was a motor/trans swap, entire wire harness swap(custom built), gas tank swap, all suspension swapped, a/c hybrid system built, etc.

So yeah...we can get that suspension done when I get a day off

Thanks man. It's been a rough day at the shop today and I was on edge already. Already feeling this ore stress. Over 40 schedules next week and there's only gonna be 2 mechanics in our shop for each shift. It's gonna be a busy week. Sounds good bud. Saw a caddy pickup in atl for sale no motor but they were asking 800. Still looking for a mk1/mk2 and a tdi engine....

He has already disconnected the linkage and tried it by hand and still don't have those gears.

It missed us by about a mile. Where it crossed over 122 through the trees is a wreck. Some of the houses up here got destroyed. Last night on Boyette Rd. I saw a piece of wire closet shelf embedded in a tree. We couldn't leave the neighborhood unless we went out the north side. It was weird because we didn;t get ANY wind here at all, but as soon as you turn off Baskins Rd. you can't miss the damage.

Sweet Merc, but when I clicked I was expecting a 190D.

Got an EOtech for my AR15 on the cheap. Shot it today and sighted in my .22 finally. Pretty stoked.

Good call on the 190D BUT...190D never came with manual in America. The 2.6 I'm bidding on is a manual with a tight body. I have a line on a 190 2.5 turbo diesel in P.C. for 1G.

    Smell what I'm stepping in

Lonnie is going to tighten everything up with the tranny and then it needs that wiring work.
So if has to wait until you have time Jason, it just will. That is if you can do it. I know you like wiring!

Heard something moving in the RV today. Sounded like a rat. Turned out to be a baby squirrel. After a quick chase the damn thing fell from my RV's roof. I caught it with my welding gloves and was going to show Madison. Well...Jack intervened and needless to say...the little guy didn't have a chance

BUT...then I checked my frig in the RV where the squirrel was being raised...DEAD! ****ERS...this means war

I grabbed the 410 but was too scared of popping off a few rounds in the neighborhood so I borrowed my neighbor's GAMO air gun. GAURANTEED I will be adding this weapon to my arsenal!

    Total score:

    Hough - 3 kills
    Squirrels - 1 kill(the fridge)

    The war rages on

Squirrels eh? I'd like to come over and do some secret squirrel stuff with my gsg

Ordered an mp5 break down kit, fabbed up a sick ram horn v-band adaptor straight welded into AWIC for the G6T. Not too many people chop up 1800.00 turbos, but I sure do. Also oversized the crap out of the hot side manifold holes and installed some self locking helicoils to ensure the damn studs don't back out. Then I scored a mustang cobra heat exchanger...20 bones Lovin MT right about now...

I just got around to sighting in my 597 last weekend... squirrels are done for at <100m.

Or if .22 isn't going to do the job...

Matt, my roof rack is getting ready to be removed for the last time before I sell the car. If you want to get your hands on the base bars let me know.

tomorrow completes 19 days straight working.

    FINALLY getting a weekend off

Bob Seger and Sailor Jerry made tonight a good Thursday.

I'm about to a massive give away in my shed. I gotta move some **** and want parts gone. Most are worthless in terms of resale value but you never know when you see something and it can work for something else.

Jason, I don't wanna take up your family time this wknd, but let me know a time thats good for you, I'll do some plundering for parts before they are gone. I know stuff doesn't stay long at your place.

Also, Steve and Jason, condo has been rented for SOWO, get with me about costs/plans etc.

Who else is going? What days?

Yeah, I've got AC parts for MK4 and MK1. Since you're the only person I've ever seen add AC to a MK1 it's all yours.

Sailor and Fat Tire. Pretty much the only think I keep on hand these days.

Back from Jax FL. RV managed 9mpg to the gallon! If it weren't towing I'd imagine she would pull 10mpg

Turbo diesel did 75mph easy on the interstate too which was impressive.

Anyway...this week I will start pulling all the stuff out of the shed that will be free. Next weekend I will let everyone know what time to show. There will be no holding of parts. First come first serve. Do not expect anything fancy...just **** I don't want and will go to the garbage if you don't snag it.

Andrew - I need ANY mk1 a/c parts you have!!!!

I am leaving for NY and ME thursday for like 10 days. The only thing I might possible need is any wheel speed sensors you might have. Trying to liquidate my stuff too. Done to a healthy 337, S4, Lexus and hopefully soon the corrado will be gone. Then revamping the garage to make it look like a proper garage.

Well I started pulling stuff out of the shed today. You all can just come by whenever I guess.

Matt I think your brother should come by because of the mk3 stuff out there. Steve Grenat will need to come by too for the B5 ****. Oh yeah...someone tell Garron to swing by too because of the mk2 shiz. NO mk1 stuff was out there I'm hoarding that stuff.

Sam - next weekend is fine. I'm FINALLY catching up on helping people. This weekend I have a TDI coming by and hopefully I can get some time on to touch bases with Kathy's Golf on Sunday....

So Kathy if you read this...call me and let's set something up. I'm thinking of swinging by after lunch and helping with whatever I can.

Most of the freebie stuff got gone so thanks to all who came by. There will probably be a second wave of junk and I'll let everyone know when that goes down.

Matt N...I can't find that car I told you about I will keep looking though.

I've bid on 3 or 4 mustangs in the past few weeks...pretty soon I'll be driving a Mustang:

Here's what I've bid on so far...
Bone stock 94 Cobra, 89 LX with a turbo 302 making 400+ whp, a 95 Cobra with a Vortech V1 but I'm really going back to one of my all time favs...an 03/04 terminator

    Vote, Easy. I 03/04 Cobra. Beautiful looks/handles/sound

Screw porsches, they cost too much.

Got my aba complete setup, alternator/brackets, idlers, hardware, p.s. with 37k on it for 125. Dude selling the stuff had a loss in the fam so it took a little bit to receive, but I love the tex.

Also scored complete minty f/r mk1 seatbelt/hw setup from Jersey shore. After a little bit of scrubbing, I am sure I can clean all of the pizza grease out of the belts

LOL. Fist pumping all the way.

03/04 it is. Leslie knows I've been talking about them for a decade. I'm not picky on the price depending on what it has but the color is important and absolutely no verts.
