One sweet thing I found about my job is there is a permanent ART openinsg at every AFB that have reserve aircraft unit. For now I am applying to a spot in socal and another in bay area. If I get them sweet, if not then keep up with school. Once school is done or I get board going to apply to a couple in Florida and NC. Any way, date with the recruiter tomorrow to finalize this.
Jason - what wage grade is your job. Just curious.
Got outta afghanland this am. Sitting in Manass right now. Weather is nice and cool. I have guaranteed date for next week. Stoked!
B. Sometimes I think you need to drive an old beater mk2, so you can appreciate leaving well enough alone:thumbup: Besides, who the heck is that window less guy anyways, function over forum.
Jas, Ill have that motor pulled in no time, don't you sweat that!
Andrew, I will continue to keep Kayla in my prayers.
SWEET NATE!!!! I am off all next week and can pick you up anyday if you need.
Rob - WG-11. Follows the same pay scale as a GS-11. There is a WG-12 slot coming open too but he told me not to even waste my time applying. I'm happy with the 11 though. That's a base salary of 50K.
Nate again - I might start pulling off some front end shiz but it will still run. You don't want to see the rest of the car...it's filling up with...any and everything!
Andrew - you definitely want to party with Gary...he knows EVERYONE in Panama City.
Im not off next week (ORE) :banghead: ..... But if you let me know when you all are gonna do this I'd like to swing by... Nate! Cant wait to see you man!
Yeah that gunmetal is sick! I had thought about that color, but I just don't know how I would like it on a PG car. The color is too close I think.
Well thanks to a contact of Andrews...I popped my gun buying cherry.
I've ALWAYS had a soft spot for accurate bolt action rifles. After looking at a few I had my eyes set on this Swiss made K31. A quick serial check revealed she was built in 1953. Even found the original owners tag from the Swiss Army behind the metal plate on the stock. So damn sweet.
Anyway....should be buyin some rounds here soon. Can't wait to get this baby sighted in.
Kayla is doing great, she's getting her staples out today.
Silas decided he's a night baby and we stay up all night and sleep until noon. He's totally my son.
Saw a mk4 polo today I really wish vwoa would consider producing these things in the us, I'd totally have one.
Ill be home the 29th around 9am. See ya'll soon. Hadn't heard from my roommate, so If you could Jas, pick me up? if not no worries, I'll arrange pick up. lmk.....
Also, Jason. That video sufficed. I'm ripping that motor apart immediately, before I buy anything else. Head and block inspection and decked if necessary. So if there is anything holding you up, grab it man. I have secured enough already! All I need is a motor for tinkering, and that turbo for motivation.
Now that you all have guns, I should consider a mill, a lathe, and a turret press:thumbup: Ill get back into mk3 SMLE. Favorite all time bolt axn rifle, and its .303
Project serious coinage is about to begin...cannot wait
I started pulling the front end off yesterday and began draining the coolant but she still fires right up. I will take a little more off before you get here. Probably just a/c stuff for Steve's car but I will hold off on takin the turbo because it will be easier until the engine is completely out.
Anyway...9am Tuesday...got it! If you see this before you fly in..Valdosta airport or the over on the flightline.
I will start bothering my 75th friends to make sure small changes do not occur.
VERY excited to have you back!
Talk to ya soon.
Jason
P.S...a lathe is DEFINITELY in my garage's future.
Yo Jason! How's the passat coming along? Also have you heard anything on the art slot being posted yet? I've the wheels ready to bring over so let me know when a good time would be.
Steve - I installed the a/c stuff from the donor car to ensure you have air conditioning and vacuumed the system to burn off any moisture. Once I get the turbo...car will be ready to go ASAP...pending in snags....and there are generally snags.
Well I'm sure he will post soon but welcome home Nate. Great seeing you this AM. I love watching all the troops come home.
Whenever you want give me a call, IM, or stop by so you can see what your money bought.
Anyway...my ART slot is lookin good. Getting excited. Might not work at all in April, do that long term sub gig in May and then start up with the AF after that. **** yeah:beer:
I am not quite sure I still don't know what the hecks going on. THANK YOU for being there. It meant the world to me. I was COMPLETELY overwhelmed. To say the least. I will be getting up with yas in the VERY near future. God bless yas.
Jas, this sammich is delicious, and totally my fav (other than the whole grain, turkey and mustard you guys make)
House is literally, i mean literally full of rado parts. Full on commitment:heart:
Already got offered a side job at the airport welding/fabricating aircraft parts!!! which works out well as I was wanting to take flying lessons, so work for fly=awesomness. Wow. Eventful day to say the least.
