Yeah I understand. I don't really hang with some of the others there, heck I don't even stay that long!
I would love to see a bunch of VWs roll in! That would be awesome!
In fact Lonnie and I have been talking about a Passat Wagon for awhile. I REALLY wanted to get a VW when we got the Scion! If we find a nice Wagon for sale, that Scion might be up for sale! Although my Scion best buddy will be upset with me!
A Passat Wagon lowered, tinted windows with some wheels............ I like!

Parts manager sold it to me discount, list price is 75 bones.
you cannot even buy the button release alone for that much(which was what was broken)..Thank you Joe Marino

Andrew, get some pics loaded up of the tdi, you know I love them

Lawerence (sorry if i spelled that wrong) when you go to get the jetta painted, you should totally color match the inside of the headlights. I think Alaskan Green is an awesome color.

Last time I went to Steak and Shake someone asked if I was lost
Kathy - I owned a slammed older Passat wagon. It was SICK. Definitely a good buy.
In Blue news...engine bay is about 99% finalized.

Hopefully this weekend I'll wrap up the intercooler system install.

Jason, thats crazy man, do you have enough room left for intercooler? I downloaded Bentley pdf version, and already made bookmarks on torque specs.
All, I have hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken, etc. so everyone come on out, bring your girl(s), wives, or both, but definitely your dub!! I think the planned time is after church sunday, but I will be here all day saturday too tinkering. I live a mile or so from Jason, call for directions: 229.460.0296 Looking forward to seeing you all!

Nate - Yea that is a good idea that i didnt think about. I deff love my color too haha.
Jason - That thing really is coming together pretty nicely.

Scions arent all that go out to steak and shake. I do every second saturday but i go a little later like at around 9.
Me and the wife would come by on sunday as well but i know that only a few of you on here know me so i sort of think it would be awkward if showed up and no one knew me haha.
oh yea and one more thing. I attempted to fix the dents on my trunk lid and i guess you can say I sort of shaved it but here is a pic of it when i finished it last night. Still needs some work done but it looks much better than it did. Now all i need is a front bumper and lip and I cant find a good used one anywhere around here.

Lawrence - Valdosta wrecking is a VW/Audi speciality yard. They carry other crap but really focus on VW/Audi. Give em a call. I hate body work

Yea i have given Valdosta wrecking a couple calls for some stuff but they dont really have many Mk4 anymore. Mostly mk5 now or thats what the guy told me the last time i called them looking for a bumper. Thanks for suggestion though.

Try ebay or the vortex classifieds. Best bet is to make a willing to by thread. Also make one in the southeast regional classified thread

Yeah I'll get Leslie to show to. More wife's/girls the better. Gives them something to talk about rather than hear about cars.
Lawrence - Bring your kid. My wife will bring ours too. That way Heather(Matt's wife) will go into pure baby fever

Stopped by Davis vw today, I am officially air cooled!!!
Saw that poor little '73 orange bug sitting there, went in and talked to Greg. I gave it a drive and checked it over pretty good. It needs some help, but for now is deffo road worthy! I'm picking it up tomorrow!! Crazy, who'd a thunk? I really wanted a pre 1967 beetle, but was having a hard time finding one for the right price.
There is a classic car cruise @toys r' us in sat from 5-8, I'll be going with my cousin in his 66 T-bird.

      Welcome!

Another Air cooled in the Mix? Awesome!
Yes the Classic Car Cruise-in is every 2nd Sat of the month at Toys R Us and then after that is the one at Steak and Shake.
On the 15th we will be having that Car Show swap meet at the Steak and Shake. Taking over the whole parking lot on the Goodys side. Looks like we will be having well over 50 cars coming out. Going to be a good thing for our charity and for the public as well. They are going to start announcements on the radio soon too.

So, on this Passat Wagon thing I said about before, looks like we are going to seriously do it. First I need to sell the Scion though. That would mean I wouldn't have a car payment again, YAHOO!
Anyway, Lonnie was talking about it last night and said he was going to do some research on it, but what years should we stay away from? I know we are staying away from automatics already, that is one thing Lonnie doesn't like in VWs!

    19. 08-07-2009 09:01 AM #2569
Name is Matt. I have a blue 02 Jetta with jacked up paint, a front mount, and 19's, along with some other stuff. I also have a 88 Cabby that won't run.
Jason (vdubspeed) kinda knows me, well through email at least.
Thanks for the welcoming, keep me posted on meets and gtg. It would be nice to see some weekly gtg like we had back in Tampa.

Now we have three guys in this thread named Matt
So I bought a wheel bearing kit from ECS like a long time ago, finally getting wround to installing the bugger. So I start taking off brakes etc then get to what should be the 30mm axle nut. Well my car comes equiped with an axle bolt. So off to the dealership to find said bolt and go to sears and buy the special tool that I need.

Kathy, I really like the B5's. I don't know if its just cause they are soo easy to work on, easy to get parts cars for or just knowing the Hough's. Deffo a TDI. Perfect combination if you ask me

well, I just posted my Scion up for sale! I am going to get grief from my Scion buddies, but oh well!
Just wanted to know if there were specific ones we should steer away from. We will have to sell the Scion first and then put money up to save for one we like.
So I guess that means when the Scion is gone, I will be driving the bus more often!
