    Thread: One of the WIPERS doesn't WORK! HELP!

      So it was snowing today and i was driving and about 20 minutes into the drive my driver side windshield wiper stops working.. ?? it's all flimsy and crap.. i think the bolt thngy got loose.. my passenger side works fine but my driver side is loose like a goose.. any diagrams to help me fix it? or is my problem guessing totally off?

      just open the hood and remove the plastic raintray cover.
      under that you'll see the mechanism and motor for the wipers.
      look at the axle on the motor. the bolt probabl has come loose and one stalk has come off.. 5 mins work no diagrams needed.. not much that can go wrong there. esspecially since the other one's still working

      either that or the splines inside of the wiper arm are stripped

      eh the arm came loose.. how am i post to stick it back on? it's not a bolt and it doesnt seem to screw on to anything, it's SQUARE!.. i loooked around and found nothing that fits it.. argAH i cant even get the square bolt thingy to go through the arm..argh

      square? didn't know round blocks fit square holes

      odds are it isn't a vw wiper...but deff. make sure the splines arn't stripped...

      using this as my winter beater really is sucking with this one busted wiper ..lol.. ill take photos later..

      well i couldnt find a freakin camera nor the time to take a picture .. so i took someone elses and pointed out what fell off..

      the red outlined piece came off and can move freely down, the black outlined piece can be pulled up and down without unscrewing anything.. is my windshield wiper done for? how do i fix? ill try better pics later

      You probably stripped the arm where it attaches to the shaft. Clean it and probably you'll have to replace the arm. Sometimes a washer and tightening it a little more works.

      thanks, ill give that a try..ill clean it good.. im gonna try to work on it all day tonight ..because driving my mk2 for winter with no windshield wiper sucks...

      Hi i've just had my MOT wiper's worked fine, on the way home started to rain went to put my wipers on and nothing. front wipers don't work, rear wipers don't work and water jets don't work. Any suggestions, i've tried and tested the fuse.

      you might want to start your own thread on the topic instead of hijacking someone elses. you will probably get more responses that way.

      I'd suggest how you might fix your wipers but I honestly dont know.
