Hey you guys want to help me out???I'm looking for a cabby or a nice aircooled for my fiancee.I have about 1000-1500 to spend on so if you know of one for sale let me know.

I'm always on the lookout for VDUBS on the road since I drive all over the Michiana area. If I see anything I'll make sure to let you know.

Well, today on my way to work I spotted that black a2 again. This time it was in the tiny town of Rome City. I wonder if he works around the area somewhere
(blue98gtivr6) I also saw another red Cabby w/ white top in a small dealership right next to Essenhaus Restaurant on 20 in Middlebury. It looks to be in really good shape but I was driving kind of fast so you might want to go check it out if you have time this wknd.

So I am off work today and was headed to Sam's club. I noticed that Vorderman's has a MK4 R32 on their lot.
I haven't driven one yet and decided to do so.
Those things are nice. They pull pretty good.
I wonder if Jacyno swooped his rabbit yet...

yeah, they've got that black one. i test drove a mk4 gli from there a while back too, but i've really got the mk5 bug. especially after the chicago auto show. not many other cars are doing it for me right now.
the new civic looks cool from the outside, but the interior is really weird. i don't like the dual level speedo/instrument cluster. same with the new accord coupe. the radio/climate control is really confusing. the tsx was ok. i'd have to drive one to really get a feel.
the new subarus are disgusting, to me anyway, however a 2004ish wrx would be nice. the sti is a bit of a saving grace for subaru for me.
i was, however, pretty impressed with the new g8, however, i can't afford a car like that, nor do i need one that large yet. the cadillac cts coupe was also very sleek. otherwise, the american makes are in real trouble. dodge did have a pretty cool, and i can't believe i'm saying this, avenger. lowered, skirts, flares, etc. looked like a touring car. it won some points from me anyway.
nissan had a pretty cool mini-van concept. had very low slung, sleek lines. didn't look like a mini-van. otherwise, their cars are lame, except for the 350z, which could still use a face lift since it's been around for a while now.
i do still love the mini cooper s, but i'm still not sold on that dash configuration. it's just weird. the new bigger cooper is really cool tho. very retro, yet modern.
saab had a killer concept, but don't remember the name, and volvo had an amazing looking s60 (may have been an r the way it was trimmed) that was painted with a satin aluminum.
LOVED the new bmw tii concept. great, great looking car. as well as the new m3 coupe. the 4 door, not so much, but the m3 coupe was amazing. and can still do no wrong with the z4.
i was also very impressed with the tiguan 2.0T, however i wish it had awd. the new s5 was awesome, and very comfy. the new a4 is a step backwards i think, in terms of looks. don't know much about the mechanics of it yet. it just didn't flow well from front to back. same with the jetta wagon. great looking front, weird tail lights. it's like two cars in one.
very disappointed that audi didn't have the tdi R8 and that mazda didn't have the Furai.
for the most part, it was a huge show room, with little in the way of concepts and innovation. honda and toyota had some cool technology advancement displays as far as fuel is concerned, but the cars themselves were pretty bland (except the honda crz concept). i'm just sick of this whole gas/electric hybrid crap. i can get a 1990 honda that gets better mileage than that. i want to see tdi/electric and hydrogen technology on the road.
so it appears gti here i come! (well, some day that is lol)
oh, and i despise the "new" vw...er, dodge mini-van.

haha, yeah broke out the camera cuz i saw the mileage creeping ever so close and wanted to take a pic. the vortex was on my mind the whole time so then i figured i'd snap a few of the car in winter mode since i hadn't done it yet and it's nearing the end of february. i can't wait to bust summer mode back out. to get some looks and grip back

Well I know you all were talking about moving it to Thursday and no one had said whether it was at Vordermans or not so I didn't know.

20. 02-24-2008 10:06 PM #220
We're shooting for Thursday the 13th for March's meeting, and the way the weather's going I'd say we're probably better off meeting at IHOP. It's not much fun to hang out at Vordermans unless it's over 65 degrees and not raining...
Mark, Ben and I went to a auction in Markle this weekend hoping to pick up a '82 Rabbit diesel truck. The ad said it was in very nice shape and had been garage kept, but we didn't expect such a nice truck - it was darn near perfect. We only found piddly little things wrong with it that would have taken half a day to fix (small dent in hood, droopy headliner, a couple very small insignificant surface rust spots). The truck had a pile of reciepts, and it started up and ran like it was new. I haven't seen one this nice and original for a long, long time...
Unfortunately, it seems like everybody who came to the auction was also interested in this little jem, and it sold for $5,500! I wouldn't hesitate to say it was probably worth even more than that, but all three of us were suprised that it sold for so much. Ben didn't stop crying until way after lunch

^ that sucks that it went for so much, but i guess its a good thing they are still holding value. Thats motivating for me to find one to restore now since ive wanted one for a while.
I made it back from my 3 weeks of vacations last night!
My latest adventure was driving my junkyard jetta down to Florida (to see if it would make it) for a week to enjoy warm weather. I chose the wrong time to move back here from vegas i guess.
Halfway down to FL i get a call from a friend offering me $650 if i can trailer 2 of his 3 seater jet skis back from tampa. That money would more than pay for my trip, so i had a hitch put on the car and hauled them back with few problems.
Not only did i drive to FL with 2.5 inches of oil pan clearance, I towed the jet skis back the same way. 1,100 miles strong...fun times

so gangster
Anyone know of any mk3 TDI's for sale in the area?

Now THAT'S what I call a shakedown cruise!
The BeatJet decided it wanted to take a little vacation in my garage again - my nephew came over this weekend telling me that it was "leaking a little oil". I discovered pools of oil in the passenger side control arm, all over the axle, and nice oil stain running from the front passenger side of the car all the way to the rear. It seems to be coming from under the timing belt cover, so it looks like I'm replacing the front main and intermediate shaft seals this weekend. Fun fun fun ...
