I am in Greenville and we need to have a gtg of atleast something larger than what I have seen at BAM. I have a GLi and my g/f has a passat with more mods than my GLi. I have seen a good many around town, even a black shaved jetta IV with a Boser.

If a guy had to buy a house in the Greenville area...what part of town is nice. The wife and I are thinking about moving down. She's with 3M and somewhere in Greenville they have a plant.
Generally speaking, what's the area like...weather, crimes, schools...

Quote, originally posted by mode12 » If a guy had to buy a house in the Greenville area...what part of town is nice. It depends on what you prefer. Urban, rural, suburbs, mountains, lakes, shopping, commute time, ect....
The 3M plant is located at the old Donaldson Center AFB which is now a industrial park. The shortest commute to there would be from the Mauldin or Simpsonville areas. It's also not a bad commute from downtown if you want to pay some $$$. Anderson and Pickens counties are also close by and have lower taxes but they are more rural at the moment.

I bought my Caddy in Travelers Rest. That part of the state is GREAT. Especially the roads near the mountain....really fun.

Wow, I haven't checked the regional forums in a long while, (since everyone posts on the local scvwaa site) and there are possibly more VWs coming to my hometown of Tee-aRa! Cool. The stories are true, TR, Greer, Blue Ridge, all with twisties and minutes from mountain twisties.

I'm going to agree with everyone else. We need to get something bigger than BAM going on. I would love a huge turnout somewhere.

There is the Columbia GTG coming up. You should offer a hand towards that. I mean sure three guys already are planning it. But just think, if you spread the word some. It could turn out just as good as Steve and I's N.CHAS GTG 07. We had I'd say about 70 cars through-out the day.

Hey Hanna, while searching for a house (hoping to move maybe early next year), I saw your car parked on the street. I can't remember which neighborhood I was in, as we've been burning lots of fuel looking lately, but it was off of 290. Where might that have been?As for the Columbia GTG, us Greenville folk usually make an appearance. I'll make sure it gets posted on the local board.
