why does its seem like there is no rear hatch on the car, looking in the rear window you can see the wall behind but there are no seats but still its seams liek you should see part of hte hatch

hey guys, how easy are motor mounts to install? i'm wondering if its something i could handle with maybe a little help from my dad. i also still need to fix/replace my leaking broken sunroof.![]()

depends which mount, the front one is easy, so is the rear. sides are a bit more tricky.what year is your car? the pre-'96 sunroofs suck.

you can do it im sure.... if you dont feel like you can handle it check out a DIY or get a bentley if you dont have one. bentleys and trial and error are more or less how i know what i know. just dont be affraid to try something new. most things turn out to be easier than you initially thought...

i got the bfi .5's so i got the whole kit with the trans mount. and my car is a 95 as it says under my name, and if you don't mind telling me, why do 95's suck? would i be better off just trying to close it properly?

i found the instructions from bfi on here. they looked helpful and i read that motor mounts aren't too hard, which i was hoping meant maybe i could handle it.

oh yeah, haha it does say you have a '95. the pre-'96 sunroofs are just more prone to having the cable mount things break off than the later cars are. i guess vw realized it was a problem and they fixed it. my sister and her boyfriend used to both have '94 mk3s and we ended up putting new sunroof assemblies in both. it's really nto a huge deal, and they are easy to find in salvage yards these days. it's really hard to get them to close again once they break, but i have managed to do it a few times.
#123
thats what i planned on doing, getting a used assembly. they are cheap enough and i'm not going to try to figure out exactly what's wrong, cause it could be mutiple things. it hasn't worked since i'm guessing the 2nd owner bought it since he went to lehman's in bechtelsville and they wanted something crazy like 1k to fix it.![]()

harrys always has a few just use them manualy first to make sure the tracks are good, also if you pull one there you will know exactly what to do in your car and you can screw it up at harrys but you dontwant to screw your car up
