Honeslty, I don't feel like dropping the whole sunroof to just change the cover. I'm too lazy for that.

      looks good.

I left the sunroof panel in my 90 the original color when I re-did my headliner as well.

how hard was it getting the headliner down?

how does the B pillar trim come off?

I've got to clean my sunroof drains bady and I think I'll pull the headliner down to do it

Not to bad, after you take off the handles, visors, visor clips, front and rear dome lights, There are a few clips around the sunroof that hold the headliner up.

The hardest part is getting the headliner in and out of the car.

Just pops off like the other pillar covers, It just does not have any bolts holding it in like the A&C pillars. Its attached with two clips at the top of the cover.

"how hard was it getting the headliner down?

The B-Pillar trim pulls straight out at the top and slides up to release from the lower cover. Remove the kick panel in the front, and the whole lower door trim. Release the lower B-pillar panel clips behind the lower door trim and pull up.
Don't do what I did the mine and try to pull it around the retainers on the lower B-pillar cover. Stuff breaks and you look like a fool. I work on Japanese imports, they're a bit different that's for sure.

I haven't looked as to where the Sunroof drains are in B5's but there should be a drain at each corner of the sunroof assembly. If you don't go balls out, some compressed air will clean them out quick, but you can also blow off the tubes and make a huge mess if you're not gentle.

I assume they are the same as my old mk3 VW I'll simply disconnect the drains and blow a ton of compressed air thru them to clean ou the tubes

Anyone have any tips on cleaning a s4 headliner? I just picked one up an I want to clean it up before I install it. It also has a small impression or two if anyone knows how to get them out.

No. You need to swap in a facelift sunroof also.
