Thread: Hondas?

  1. 01-01-2008 09:05 PM #1
    *************************NEW PICS ON PAGE 5!!!!!*********************************

I look up to a lot of the cars on this site and the innovative things you VW guys come up with. As far as I'm concerned the Honda scene is following in the VW footsteps as far as trends. Lately I've seen a lot of slammed cars with shaved engine bays and low offset wheels with stretched tires. Post some pictures of Hondas you've seen and liked and we'll see what you all come up with.

Here is a link to the thread on Honda-tech.com that reminded me to start a thread about hondas over here.

    http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1902698

Here are some shots of my car if anyone cares.

The engine bay, hopefully the motor will be swapped out soon.

    Suspension set up:
Omni Sleeve Coilovers and Skunk 2 short bodied struts.

Let me know what you guys think and post up some Hondas if you want.

Can't dig the wheels... But other than that

Who cares about the engine, who's the passenger!?

  3. 01-01-2008 09:09 PM #3
    Why are you "concerned" exactly?

"slammed cars with shaved engine bays and low offset wheels with stretched tires"- I think you just described every modified Honda.

It was for a calendar my car was in, have no idea who she was.

I'd be concerned too if a bunch of people prone to hitting crubs, fentses, bricks and some burshers had poke and stretch, that could pose an even greater danger to us!

She was sitting in your car and you didn't even talk to her! Oh man... Oh man... You blew it dude.

HAHAHAHA, I totally agree. Really I think the stretched and poked wheels look stupid on Hondas, but V-Dubs pull it off nicely.

    Modding Civics is so 1998.

  9. 01-01-2008 09:14 PM #9
Naw, I don't think they've ever looked good since they were put on a purple impala in 1970 if ya know what I mean. I think it's great how the "import" scene evolved into speed builds and went away from the Kragen Edition tuning style (for the most part) Now V-Dubbers are still stuck with flashy cars that don't go anywhere, like the "import" scene was in the 1990s.

I think Buicks are for people born in 1908, your point? Thanks for your insight though.

The ***** cars can get as euro or as ricey as they want, but there's one thing I want to see abolished. Get rid of those fart cannons!!! Every goddamn person thinks its cool to put a potato muzzle on the back end of a car. Use it with discretion.... please.....don't conform people...

edit: the blanked out word is *****, but I can't say it, so I'll say asian brands like honda or toyota

    Cool car, very clean!

I agree my muffler is a bit "bling" and large, but it sounds awesome and I will never get rid of it. Thought about getting it powdercoated flat black eventually though. Thanks for your input.

For a modified Civic, that's not half bad. The unpainted hood looks a little silly, though.

Tell you the truth, the carbon fiber hood is the worst purchase I've ever made. I can't find a clean OEM hood that isn't beat to hell around my area or I would have taken it off by now. Thanks though.

I think the CF is one of the nice features of owning these cars, it looks right when mounted properly, when on a VW it almost always looks like you're doing it wrong.

I'm amazed at how fast this whole forum moves. It seems like there are just as many people and traffic on here as on honda-tech.com for the most part.

Here are some Hondas that have been an inspiration to me.

The OP's shouldn't be very loud. It looks like the old style Trust/GReddy BL type or whatever. The muffler is larger and not like the N1 style loudass exhausts.

Yeah, that's one of the nice things about this forum, it's usually never dead. Some places just don't move at all. The other nice thing is that people have a mix of cars here so it's not only one opinion that you get.

I do like your car. Very clean.

I get the calendar soon, I will update you guys on the pics from the calendar.

There have always been quiet, understated, purpose built imports. They just aren't what magazine publications wanted to show.

  26. 01-01-2008 10:42 PM #26
Very clean car man. I like how clean the Engine Bay is.

The car looks perfect. I wouldn't change a thing about it.
Conan1999: <grin>Do you really care? TCL is Poseur Kingdom. The bulk of the posts are generated by a slew of toolbags who've never driven the vehicles they discuss and who are "into cars" in the same way as the nouveau riche display designer labels. Granted, the forum's entertainment value is off the scale, but I wouldn't confuse it with expertise of any sort.

Speaking of EG hatches, Here's mine:

Needs some work still, but its a 92 Civic CX hatch, My parents bought it new of the lot back in 92, My dad gave it to me in 06 as a IRS Tax evasion *My DD is an 07 focus*

I Junked the 8 valve head in favor of a D16Y8 Vtec head and did a buncha little stuff *Full header/test pipe/exhaust, UDP's, Adj. Cam gear, D16Y8 intake manifold, Intake, milled/worked over head, Phearable.net ECU, Very pissy little car, requires alot of tuning to get just right.
