I'd say try to find another one, but it would be almost impossible... That pic is awesome though. Oh the things I would do to have a brand new Frost White 94 SI....

Didn't know they were that plug and play, I though only mk1-mk3 era vws were supposed to be like legos.

I always wondered back in the day where do they get all this ITR crap, when we had just a handful of itrs in america.

Hell, you could take your ECU out of your car and all the thief needed to do was have an ECU from the same engine FAMILY (never mind same engine) and he could limp mode your car away somewhere to strip it.

So I picked up a 98 civic ex 5 speed with a blown motor and zero rust for 800 bucks!

I rebuilt the motor and now have it back on the road with 227 miles on my fresh engine. Its such an awesome feeling when your driving around a car that you built.

Suspension and brakes next week. I want to get some sort of OEM honda/acura wheels for it as well.

Also see my e30 lurking in the backround.

I'm not sure I want to know what all is involved with polishing a distributor. I have to assume a ton of time and a big wheel for sanding and buffing.

That one blew up real nice, good god.... Be careful about the Civic, because if you do too much too it you will be running the risk of it getting stolen. I'd just keep it how it is and drive it.

Sanded with 100 grit dremel barrel to smooth out all the casting flaws and lines, then 220 grit by hand, 800 by hand, 1000 by hand, 1000 wet by hand, then fine rouge on a soft polishing wheel on my bench grinder and finished it up with some nevrdull polish.

Car theft in my area is almost non existent. I'm not too worried about it.

That's good to hear. I say go for it then. Upgrade the fronts to Integra rotors and calipers and do a nice Koni/Ground Control combo and it will be a lot of fun.

Theft, and at this point it's a lot of $ that I don't have to spend on something very similar to what I've got.

Not gonna get rid of my Civic any time soon, and it addresses a good bit of the shortcomings the ITR had.

Good thread! Aside from VW I have a big love for Honda. My first road going car was a 1990 CRX DX in silver. I bought the car when I was 15 and had to have my dad drive it home for me. I wrecked it 4 months later passing ab F350 in a neighbor hood on a 90 degree turn (what can ya do). I still think about how much I loved that car. The interior is just amazing IMHO, handles well, it's all there. If I could ever come across one down here that hasn't been destroyed it would replace my Mk3 daily. Sadly in Texas TONS of them have been just hacked up totally.

Just woke up from an overnight drive from LA. Went to Nisei Showoff and saw plenty of properly put together cars, unlike the cars showing at the other show happening at the same time in Long Beach.

I don't take pictures cause I'm more into motor builds, but this Legend caught my eye.

and the interior, complete with tape deck and Sony discman --

I met Colin (phryxis) and he was taking pictures. I'm sure he'll be posting pictures from the show.

Awesome turbo wheels. We'll have to add those to the thread, never knew Volk made any like that. I wonder if 90's period correct is going to be the new styling direction.

I did. If you're not a car snob who looks down on Japan, FWD, 4 cylinders, NA, etc, it's a fantastically fun little sports sedan with a character you only find in more expensive stuff, delivering decent performance in ferocious fashion.

Sure they were. The pedals (we've talked about this), the motor. 6MT > 5MT too.

Stock for stock, the ITR is a bit more capable, but with some mods the FG2/FA5 just leaves it behind. Where the ITR really excels is in autoX (due to 250-300lb less) and some subjective 'feel' categories.

I know right? I was making room in my garage and was about to throw them out, but was super happy to realize I should use those boxes for oil drip protection. They're incredibly nice boxes.

Yeah that's interesting because there definitely is a small trend towards period correct styling going on right now...

We don't really know yet. It never made a clean pass on that setup (B20v stock sleeves). Tune and tranny issues plagued it both times he took it out. A sleeved b20v is going in now, aiming for around 650hp. Tranny is getting rebuilt as well. I'll update it next time we get to the track. Ideally he wants this to be a ~1000hp low 9 car.

Some of you may remember my expert painter's tape vinyl TWSS/awesome face and Forever Alone face from last year. Well, it's that time of the year again! Time for ITR Expo! I'll take pics and make a thread documenting the event later (it's on the 20th and 21st), but here's what livery my car will be sporting at this fabulous event:

    The driver's seat:

The boot, providing tailgaters humor en route since 2011:

I'd like to thank MUGEN for sponsoring this fabulous wing:

And finally, this year's guest of honor:

Is the ITR Expo usually pretty well attended? It's at my home track this year, and I'm wondering if it's worth the drive to spectate.

HAAHHAHA I love the painters tape custom graphics, ITRs are like the Grand Nationals of the 90s. When i see one i have to point and tell the person with me, I would be deathly scared to own one in ny though, it would last about 2 dsays before getting stolen.

This year will be bigger than last year (last year was at CMP). We've got easily at least 70 ITRs showing up (not all will be tracking.)

You should definitely make it out.

Gigantic blue tape pedobear is pretty amazing! I really need to try and attend an expo sometime. I bet it's awesome to hear a ton of B18C5s blasting around the track!

I got some more work done on my motor and trans.

I got the OEM serial number sticker back on the trans and also made a little stencil to try and mimic the factory painted "S4" designation on the transmission. I thought it came out pretty good.
