You can add a resistor in parallel to these bulbs or your can turn off cold diagnostics with a vag-com.The Central Electronics Controller register these as being burnt out due to low resistance.

So i just purchased some LED licnese plate bulbs from http://www.42draftdesigns.com went to go plug them in today and they turned on looked great...about 5 seconds later turned off and i got a bulb out indicator on the dash...anybody else have any experience with these bulbs and how to correct the problem? they said they are built specifically for VW license plate bulbs which use 14.5v

Yeah, i just ordered the small resistor and the two of the 37mm 3710-WHPx LED's from http://www.superbrightleds.comSooithappens ill probably need a little help with the wires ill PM once i get them!

well for the 5seconds they were on they were more than bright enoughand thanks for the info i ordered a 6ohm load equalizer so when that gets here maybe ill do a little diy
