the pics are actually from the fountain tire on lag.

i liked the "3" on the door for mkIII

everyone uses a cell phone for their "How low am i?" shot, i figured a Tim's cup would be more winnipeg appropriate

Just to let all the Winnipeg vortex folks know that WinnipegHeights is planning a GTG/meet/cruise on Sunday Oct 5 at 5:00 at the Zoo parking lot.

I am trying to generate enough interest to actually have a 'euro' section.

Here is the link for more info...

Hey, did anyone notice that Autohaus is advertising an R32 . I haven't had a chance to get over and drool over it yet. I imagine the price is through the roof.
This must be related to the changes in Canadian bumper regulations that bring us in line with America now.
    Cheers

good luck, mkII's are plated in gold right now, a total piece of crap is worth a couple of grand

get a mkIII, they are plentiful on sale right now for a better price. and trust me, they are far more comfy than a mkII

That's interesting (and yes, I'm not on vortex much lately)... I was thinking of a similar kind of wheel mix on my MK3.

Dunno, though. I can't quite commit to it.

Haven't seen that car around though, have to look for it.

hey, is anyone interested in my '84 Jetta GLI for $300obo?

It was my daily driver for 20 years and has 330Km and still runs good. It has the 1.8L GLI/GTI motor. The body is getting rusty around the windshield but would make a good project car if someone is interested in a MK1. I have replaced the head at 260KM. Comes with a 4-14" snowflakes and a 4-13" trantulas.

If your still looking for a mk2, I seen a white cabriolet at a dealership on Selkirk and rout 90. I only looked quickly as I was yealding into traffic...
looked lowered, had chrome or white rims, fairly clean looking..

Also anyone know anything about airbag systems here in Winni.. Like cost, who does it, hows the ride, ect....

I've had a car with coil overs, gotta love the bent rims hitting pot holes. by bent I mean broke beyond repair.

Had a car with cut lowering spring, gotta love the ghetto bounce as you drive..

I like the ride quality of factory height, but hate the look when I'm outside of the car...So airbags seem good to me? any input would be nice..

if you broke a rim on coils, you'd still kill a rim on bags. IMO the ride quiality on bags isnt up to snuff. good coils > good springs and struts > decent coils > stock > bagged > crappy coils

i have yet to bend a rim on a pothole, slowing down and watching where you drive usually helps alot with this

air ride for vw's is usually a pieced together system anyways, would take about 2k to run right. h&r coils in canada are only 1.5k and will ride better (PM SD auto NY he has air ride)

you could also be the first person in winnipeg to have schmidt wheels with radinox lips, those things will bend the pavement

yup, weitecs with 1.5" thread up front and 2.5" back. low enough to stand my key on my n/a lip

if i had the money, i'd have a set of h&r ultra lows. don't you have a 4 cylinder?

I don't usually post in the regional forums, generally stick to the local wpg forums heights, ecode.

I do have some stuff for sale, mpi corrado for 1k, and a 2.0 (ABA) 20v (AEB) engine build (just needs assembling) for well more

let me know if you are interested y'all.

btw: I think Ecode is planning a gtg at the yellow dog tonight ( friday ) anyone is welcome to show up.
