      You drive with a serious lead foot if you only get 265mpg in a 1.8t, I almost always saw 300-320.
      Before my blower Id average about 265-280 and that's on 14.5 gallons(we have a larger tank).
      After the addition of stage II if I force myself to drive conservatively I get about 250ish.

      You can get anywhere from 15-24 mpg average on an R32 depending on how you drive and if you are doing mostly city, highway or mixed driving. That being the case I think you can do the math.

      I've kept gasoline purchase records in an MS Excel database since the R32 was new. This is done using gas purchase receipts (not the trip computer). Currently have about 60,655 miles on it. Here's the data summary:
      Average over 60K miles is 25.1 MPG. Your mileage will drop about 3 to 5 MPG in winter due to increased wind drag and poor quality winter gasoline.
      Average distance on a tank is 350 miles. All time high was 455 miles. It's not unusual to get over 400 miles on a tank when on a long highway
      trip.
      Best single tank average was 31.6 MPG.
      163 gasoline purchases to date taking an average refill quantity of 13.92 gallons -- about 2270 gallons total.
      Total gasoline over 60,655 miles is about 2270 gallons.
      Total gasoline cost since June 2004 is $6,093.
      Note that over the long haul, these numbers don't work out exactly. The most reliable mileage estimate is about 25 MPG overall. I think that with odometer error and probably the retaillers method of temperature compensating their fuel meters, it tends to calculate higher MPG, for example 60655 miles / 2270 gallons = 26.7 MPG. (We don't seem to drive as far as we think we do and we get less gasoline than we think we do. Would the oil industry have it any other way?)
      Either way, you'll like what you can get from a pretty high performance car.

      Did you take into account the first tank that came with the new car from the dealer?

      Best Average MPG is about 22 overall. I can get 25-26 in my GTI VR6 12 valve. these are winter figures no AC...

      I've averaged 26 from a full tank before.
      usually it's 22-24.
      I live at 6000 feet so that makes a difference. The engine tends to use less fuel at altitude. Less oomph though.

      With a 14.5 gal. tank, you push it right to the limit, don't you?

      The R32 doesn't have a 14.5 gallon gas tank. It's closer to 16.5

      MK V R32 has 14.5 gal. Maybe the MK IV is larger?

      In the 17s here, highest was 20 on cruise. Still in break-in. I use the automatic settings on DSG and climatronic.

      I get a pretty constant 21.5 mpg in my A3 3.2.
      I use 93 octane BP, if it matters. Drive pretty quickly, not mad, but not minivan slow.
      Pretty crappy numbers

      I average 19.8 MPG over past 3k miles. Display is pretty accurate, but not spot on. I've checekd it a few times manually and got slightly better readings....ie. not much to discriminate over.
      I not a good MPG driver...Wife gets 27+ when takes the .:R to work.

      I know I am in the wrong forum, but the wife says I can get a GTI or R32 in the near future as long as she gets a Tiguan which explains why I came to this fourm! Currently our 02 Jetta GLS 2.0 liter gets between 23-25mpg and our last long trip we managed to get 29mpg on German Autobahns! Driving on German autobahns drinks the gas away too! So having full time AWD in the R32 and a VR6 isn't doing all that bad!
      Have an Über day!

      Driving Easy
      City = 19-21 MPG
      Highway = 27-29 MPG
      Driving Hard
      City = 14-16 MPG
      Highway = 20-22 MPG
      Mix [Fun/Easy]
      City = 19-21 MPG
      Highway = 23-24 MPG
      Best Gas Milage I've gotten is 32 MPG...
      and that's doing like 50-55 MPH for long distance.
      if I'm going anywhere between 55-65.. I get about 29 MPG for long distance.
      I neutral drop when coming to lights to help boost gas milage, and while going down hills..
      I currently run 93-octane all the time, so I'm hoping when I get my GIAC 93-oct Flash, I'll see a slightly better gas milage since It's utilizing my Octane/Fuel to Air Ratio better..
      -----------
      I do alot of Local Driving.. Lil Highway.
      So I normally average anywhere between 20-22 MPG to the tank for refills/fillups. anywhere between 300-340 miles to the tank.
      cheers.

      Just got 375 miles out of a tank. Probably 95% Highway and never went over 65 MPH. Hard to do with such a fun car, but its very achievable.
      Now, does it compare to my TDi getting 650+ per tank, no... But its much more fun to drive.

      Whatever size tank the R32 has, it is not 14.5 gal. I have put 15.5-16 gallons in my tank many times are several different gas stations. The tank is bigger than the specs say. I think this is true for the MK4 and MK5.
