‎***OFFICIAL*** New meet beginning this Thursday 8/2 Rosa's Cafe on Franklin Ave. @ 9PM. Let's make this first meet a good one. PARKING will be in the BACK of the BUILDING. 10% off food, etc. If you act stupid you will be asked to leave, so leave the stupidity at home. If you feel the need to do a burnout or donuts, please do it in the middle of Franklin (hopefully with oncoming traffic). If you have any questions, shoot me a PM. See you guys there. Share this!

    @Jesse

    Pics or it didn't happen.
So, what's up with the 2nd Waco get together? Do I need to find you and force it out of you? Location location location!!!
Killeen is already planning a halfway to Waco gtg and I suggested Morgans point. Which should be awesome.

    Anybody??
Vagabahn is approaching and I plan on attending once I get the actual date.

News in, I'm working in town next week. Jetta shall get repaired. Gti is starting to make a nasty sound, maybe Cv joint...

I've been hanging out with the random car group Fridays or Saturdays cuz the vw people are no where to be found except Odum which is always in valley mills. Its lots of fun anyway we went to apple bees and chilled at the cicis parking.

its running great but had to remove the msd system so im just running the stock ignition. Ever since i did i havent had my fuel pump not want to start and water tested everything but nothing. If it rains o well... sooner or later im planning to get an audi a3 for me and my grl. Hopefully some apr tuning stuff in the future. I thought of parking the mk2 and strip it down completely and start fresh from bottom up but then ill be vw-less for a long time. So we'll see... I really want that vr6...

Dont really know how to start this plea for help so HELP!!! I purchased a 99 NB for my daughter and I need some advise/help. For some reason it seems to shift gears real hard upshifting or downshifting...Oh sorry its a 4spd auto 2.0l. I had to pull the dash out of the car a few months ago to fix the blend door and in doing so I had to disconect the battery. I am being told the likely problem is I need to do a Throtle Body Alignment?? I tried what one forum said and disconected the battery and then reconected it and turned key on but didnt start it. Then I waited until TB stopped buzzing and clicking and turned the key off and back on. It didnt seem to help. I have already replaced the lower dogbone engine mount and about to replace the transmission mount just as a precaution. Now to what I am looking for....I was told I need a vag com to do a proper throttle body alignment is this true and does anyone on the forum have one they woudl be willing to use to perform this alignment?? I can pay if neccesary or purchase your favorite adult beverage for your time. Anyone with ideas please help me before I just start throwing parts at it....

How long did you disconnect the battery for throttle body alignment? On mk4 you disconnect battery and touch the negative and positive cables together per vw tech instructions to reset the Ecu... drains all capacitors.
Than you turn the key on for 30 seconds to run, than start and let idle for 2 minutes??

Have you changed the transmission fluid and filter? High mileage could be the issue.

I disconected the battery for about 10 to 15min. I didnt touch the cables together mabye I should try that. Also the car as a whole has 110,421 miles but I was told.......that the trans had been rebuilt prior. Now I did have to replace the trans cooler o-rings and had to had some fluid back at the fluid that came out was pretty dark..so the possiable trans rebuild is suspect. I have considered doing a fluid/filter change as I dont think it will hurt. I am going to try your suggestion in a few to see it that helps the issue. Question with the lower dogbone mount disconected should I be able to rock the engine back and forth easly?? Thanks for the help.

Dog bone is the main thing holding the engine from rolling in a complete circle. Any popping or banging during shift?

As for fluid color... the fluid should be synthetic ?? So color??

No noises other than what I assume is the engine/trans compressing the dogbone bushing due to the hard shift, it doesnt do it everytime either. Also I have noticed that lets say you are in 2nd or 3rd and let off the pedal the trans does not upshift it actually starts to slow down much like a manual would if you didnt push in the clutch...I knew I shouldnt have bought an auto...

My automatic cabrio did just that. Mine after having the car run for about 15 minutes, it started shifting fine. I never did the fluid change. Auto tranny fluid once is dark its going out. Some of the more popular tranny fluid with manufactures are red and the new cvt I think is more like blue but that's what I've seen with Mitsubishi and Subaru since I work there.

Than you turn the key on for 30 seconds to run, than start and let idle for 2 minutes??

Have you changed the transmission fluid and filter? High mileage could be the issue.

Ok so I tried what you said and it didnt seem to work. I disconected the battery touched the cables together and I even let the car sit diconected for about 30min. Then I conected the battery, turned the key on"not starting the engine" and let it sit for about 2 min while the Throttle body made one click noise then a series of hums until it stopped, then I started the car and let it idle and I didnt touch anything for about 5 minutes.. Then I drove the car. It is still shifting real hard heck its shifting hard enough that if it wasnt for the give in the motor mounts I believe it would bark the tires..most like just brake something.. I think I am going to try the fluid/filter change next and see what that will do for me. Thanks for the advice.. I am also considering buying a vag com for this car seems it might come in handy for service.
