Going through the diy and judging my poor expertise. I would say no. If there is a tensioner just loosen tension and remove pump.... but why? May as well replace the belt. It would take 30 more minutes and save the pain and agony of still needing to swap the belt.

Jesse.... average time to replace the belt?

So since im a bottle baby I can use my Texas rangers bottle koozie!

Color matching to exterior? Nice. Im not big on painting interior but that sounds nice as im also not big on silver interior.

Yea, and my temporary ghetto hood notch fill.. figured i'd color match it until i have the money to do some real body work. i dont really like the silver strips either, and i think the blue graphite would look really sharp. i'm generally not a fan of painting interior either, but those strips are just so glossy already they're begging to get a nice proper colormatched coat of paint and clear.. and a polish.

gonna do some whimsical things too like the hood release handle. maybe the washer fluid and coolant caps too. i have the week off so.... =]

Its a quattro Jesse. Everything is on front so I presume the blood will stay in our bodies. Ill put it in service position and remove accessories. Jesse changes belt? Luis puts it back together while Jesse and I get drunk!

Wish i could come on the third but i have to go pick up my brother up at the airport, he will be visiting for a few days.

I managed to get the engine out of my 86 jetta, going on two years now. The Vr6 is sitting behind it on the floor and things came up..... Its still there, just more junk has accumulated around the jetta.
Hope too see it when your done, don't think I will be able to make it down to help though. You can always donate the 16v to my corrado, always wanted to make it a 16v G60.

Well she started getting hot last night, coolant warning didn't go off. Immediately pulled over and let it cool off and added coolant as soon as i saw it heading towards the third mark. It got that high because I happen to look down since the coolant warning didn't go off. Sighs, something has to be done this upcoming week.

Jesse: love the sig... plan is to do suspension. i brought up... i tear luis' car apart, jesse changes belt and pump. luis puts back together while jesse and i drink. which is a joke. i would help put the car back together. 6 hours you say... he needs help. your the 1.8t timing belt pro. im the jack of all trades, master of none.

side note.. we could do a vr swap? no but i found the way im going to wire that bad boy up! keeping all original wiring and splicing in a ce2 fuse box. yay for me. that way i dont go out of pocket much more than i have to.

if i win the lotto im going to open a volkswagen repair shop in waco. print off DIYs for all my repairs.

springs, not coilovers. it was going to be springs and shocks, but gonna ride with the stock ones for now.

i doubt it will take all day just for that, i think that's why people were mentioning other jobs to get done too =]

Alright guys let's figure out if we are doing the wp as well as the springs. If both I have to move some cars. Post up your opinion.

I can get the parts in this week. I won't be sitting back and not doing anything, I will do anything to help out the process go faster. I also realized there was a leak in the back, I'm thinking it's the water cooland T which I can also get in my parts list. Looks like it's a common leak for the 1.8t's. I'm sure you guys know what I'm talking about.

Mike what if I bring the Audi over Wed or Thurs and we start taking the front apart and getting it into service position, that way come Saturday things will be ready and all we have to do is switch out the parts and I can put it back together?
