    Oh man, this is a debate for the ages. Go the manual transmission forum and search the word fluid in there. You will find a lot of info Long story short, the absolute best stuff is the VW OEM tranny fluid that is GL-4 rated. You can only get it from the dealership or a couple other places and it will probably cost bank.

    just goto the store and get mobil 1 or redline 75w90 synthetic gear oil, they work just as good as the vw stuff and cost half as much.

    I once made a post where I gave the viscosity at 40C and 100C for a bunch of the transmission oils that we use in our gearboxes, but it looks like the mods of this forum thought it was useless and deleted it.

    I've found the chart again and will post it.

    I've read many times that Redline MTL is much better to use in our transmissions than MT90, fyi

    most important thing:

    020 = GL4
    02A = GL5

    The rest is up to you as long as the fluid is fully synthetic.

    im curious about the vicosity chart. 100C is like 212F? do you really think manual tranny fluid ever gets that hot? i dont see how it could... my engine oil barely ever gets over 200F..

    edit: ive ran mobil 1 in my 020 for 2 years no probs what so ever with a peloquin. shifts like butter with 160k on the original transmission
