Thread: Aftermarket wide fender flare add-on things...

  1. 02-06-2008 10:16 PM #1
I'm in the process of building an audi coupe quattro track car, and I am going to run some wide race wheels of course.

I do not want to just cut the fenders high, I would like to add on some wide arches. I see them on rabbit track cars and other cars quite often.

Where do you get them? Or do I have to make them myself?

The right thickness of plastic bent around the arc of the fender and attached with rivets seems to be the only cheap way to go. Otherwise your local metal/bodyshop would be happy to put 100 hrs into a setup of all steel at $85 an hour...

You could use your current fenders as forms - use foam and bondo to create the desired shape, and pull molds off that to make complete fiberglass fenders/quarters.

This is what some of the race cars you see have done - home made.

Flares . We may pull some molds off of this car. The body is a rough copy of the Ralley Golf.
