does anyone else have this radio

and Best Kits BKVWK1017 Volkswagen 05-06 Jetta Stereo Dash Kit

I think the radio is ugly, but if you like it...

and it probably sounds better and has better functionality than the factory unit.

I would have went with the OEM single DIN adapter, rather than an aftermarket one though. All the ones I have seen look poor, and don't match the interior.

I love Pioneer Premier. They make great stuff. I have the DEH-P780MP and it sounds a lot better than stock. Go for it man.

When it comes to interiors, I'm a fan of stock stereos...so no...don't do it.

but the stock radio flows well with the interior. i personally like the clean oem look, rather than the busy aftermarket decks with lights and buttons/knobs

agreed, most aftermarket decks are a bit over done. however i believe in function over fashion, so if i have to have a circa 1950's control panel in my car becasue it sounds the best then so be it

i put 5,000 miles on my car in 1.5 months...i need something to keep me entertained...and going through millions of CDs is no fun...and i sold my ipod long ago...so aftermarket was the way i picked.

Kind of offtopic. I asked my dealer today about installing some aftermarket audio (I just want a bazooka-type box added to oem radio) and they said that, if I did that, I'd have to remove everything before they'd look at the car for service.

I am really angry at the dealership I bought the car at right now. When they sold me the car, they acted sort of mod-friendly, and the first time I had to go there for service, it's like a total 180.

Has anyone been refused service for aftermarket? Can a dealership even do that?

Your radar detector is too low to function properly.

Don't use the dealer. If anything, they're just gonna overcharge you. I hear Best Buy isn't too bad when it comes to these things if you need someone to install it. Supposedly, they have a lifetime warranty when it comes to install whatever audio thing you need to install(I'm guessing the warranty applies to the wires and whatnot, and not actually the HU or whatever you're installing in the car). Or you can go to a local garage and ask them to do it. Preferably one that specializes in audio.

That is pretty ugly and will look out of place in the quality VW interior.

what aftermarket radio do you recommend then?
