Will the draft really take 2 hours?

Any nights after 10pm EST is fine with me. Any night but Wednesday before 10pm is fine too.

Ok, how about this for the draft? We begin at around 8 or 9 EST so east coasters can be awake for the late rounds (where many believe leagues are won or lost). West coasters will need to auto pick the first few rounds but will be around for the later rounds.

What do you guys think about that?

haven't sent the email yet. I'm just waiting to hear back from a couple people. I think today will be the last day for waiting. I just figured a lot of people were probably away from computers over the weekend.

Each person usually gets 1.5 to 2 minutes per pick. With 14 teams and 22 rounds or so, that's alot of time. Of course alot of picks won't take that long, but autopicks sometimes drag out the whole timeframe and the later rounds get pretty slow when the pickings get slim.

I agree. A 9 EST starting point should work for most everybody. That gives West Coast until 6:00 to get to a computer and East Coast a chance to be done before midnight.

Time works fine for me. If possible, please not March 26. I'm getting married that weekend, and family should already be in town. I'll get serious grief from my fiancee and parents if I skip out on family time for a fantasy draft.

haha. Congrats. I was thinking we would do it as close to the start of the season as possible. That way we know who's playing where and who's hurt, who won't be ready, ect.

Schedule the draft date asap then. Not only should we get the time we want, but we'll all be able to settle upon a date to do it. I assume like in Fantasy Football, draft times closer to the first day of the season fill up fast.

You can create the league without sending out the emails, right? Then we can decide on a draft time anyway.

Draft is going to be April 2 at 9pm ET

So it turns out last year's league is still active (sorta like a keeper i guess). So, if anyone who was in it last year wants to follow their team from last year and see how they do with the same players, feel free.

EDIT: Apparently it wasn't with the same players so I made it so there are 5 keepers per team. Anyone from last year who wants to participate can.

I think if people don't want to to do it it will just auto pick for them in the draft. (what I'll probably do anyways) then we can transfer ownership to someone else or something.

I'm confused here. So we are doing a new league and starting back up last year's league with 5 keepers?

Yeah... I think I'd rather pick my own players. How many are returning from last year?

Yes. I just noticed that last years was still there so I reactivated it and made it with 5 keepers. I was just curious to see how I could do. I figured I would let the returning people know so they could do the same if they wanted.

ALSO the invites for the new league were sent last night. The new league is 14 teams standard 5x5 roto. Anyone who was on my list got an invite and this is a brand new league. no keepers from last year.

I hope that's the plan. It really isn't fair to the people who are new to the league to have to deal with last year's deadbeat owners and trying to draft around other people's keepers.

Not that I wouldn't mind starting this league with Tex, Howard, Longoria, Lincecum and either Santana or Beltran, but it doesn't seem fair, somehow.

when you get to this page:
    http://games.espn.go.com/frontpage/baseball

click the league called vortex (it should show your team name from last year. That's last year's league). It has nothing to do with this year's NEW league.

I don't know. All 10 teams would need to return or else who decides which players they keep? Also, nobody drafted last year expecting keepers.
