This was my first draft.
I got stuck (yes, I still feel I was cursed by this) with the #1 pick.

I'm sure I made plenty of wacky choices, but at the time of the pick, as well as with what I saw available and how other players were being snatched up, I did what I thought was best. Learn from the mistakes I guess…..

So just because I took a closer in the 3rd round (21st pick), that means I deserve to be in last?

After the 1st pick, I had crappy picks……plain and simple. Would I change my strategy for next year, absolutely. But for now, I don't see why my last place team that has not had ANY shot of getting even into 8th place would be a threat to anyone with getting first dibs at just one of those players.

I'm willing to bet that even if I got 2 or 3 of them, I'd still be in the bottom 5.

I may be taking things a little too seriously. There's no money on the line or anything like that. The choice that causes the least disruption to the league is simply to set a lineup with the best possible players and let the team play out its string based on that. That'd be my vote.

...like I said though. Its a Rotisserie league. What you have is what you have... Carving up a team that isnt being managed doesnt make a whole lot of sense, when its not a head to head format. All you accomplish with that is giving two or three A+ players to mangers who shouldnt have them. Hell, at the end of the day... I might benefit from this too...but I dont think I should benefit. I still think it is absurd to give a guy in second place the ability to pick up the second best player on someone elses roster.

We have our rosters, and if they arent performing... pick up FAs for help. Take a look at how many moves Ive made already. There's plenty of value in the FAs available. You just need to take the time to look ...hell...I've turned over half of the guys that got auto drafted for me.

Anyways... whatever is decided I'll be on board with. I think status quo is best, but it seems the consensus is to carve up his team for talent.

It seems that leaving the team as is would cause the least grief. For obvious reasons I'd love to get one or 2 guys from that team, but if that will cause others to feel they are not getting a fair deal in this league, I can do without the break up of the inactive team.

Does anyone have a good read on what exactly Rotisserie league is? I admit this is the first time I've been in a Rotisserie league and I don't know exactly how the points are being scored.

A rotisserie league means you draft your players... then every day, you accumulate stats for those players... those number build, and depending on your total you receive points for each category you're leading. So if you had the most RBIs in the league for instance, you'd get a 10....if you had the least you'd get a 1... an so on, for each of the categories.

A head to head league means each team would play against another team each week... and compete to win the catgories they're scored in. So if I had the most RBIs, I would win that category and get 1 point. ...at the end of the week if you'd won 6 categories against your opponent and lost 3... your record would be 6-3... each subsequent week you'd get a new opponent and your wins and losses would add up.

I don't know how much baseball you watch, but you're setting yourself up for failure if you are expecting alot of wins from Cain

After much thought brought upon by the disappointment in my team, I've got the best idea to solve this inactive team issue. This whole debacle has obviously thrown the entire league, and possibly the universe, for a loop. SO, why don't we all just scrap all of our players and redraft ? (kidding of course ... maybe)

Seriously though, WTF is up with my offense? I don't know how many times I can look at that HR column and see a 0 or 1 before I drop every one of my players. Prince Fielder is on pace for a whopping 18-19 HRs. Eat some f***ing meat Prince! Fat bastard is giving me the same production as my 10th pick. V-MArt hasn't even hit 1 HR yet and has only 7 R and 10 RBIs. Who really expected Miguel Tejada to be my #1? I'm not a deadbeat owner or anything, but I have given up hope of ever moving up very far in the rankings.

There does seem to be a lot of that, and in reverse it seems like there are A LOT of players playing over their heads for what has become an extended period of time. Take for example the entire Pirates lineup, not to mention the A's. Pat Burrell hitting over .300?? Cliff Lee 0.81 ERA?? Livan Hernandez, seriously?? I have a feeling things will change soon enough, but some of this lasting this long is mind boggling.

I hope they dont change! You mentioned the Pirates (Nady & McLouth), Burrell, and Cliff Lee... every one of those blue plate specials plays on at least one (or both) of my fantasy teams.

I'm so ashamed of my offense. 2 runs, 0 HRs and 1 RBI? Everyone is entitled to an off day, but it seems like every time I look at the box score it is this same line.

Quick question... Does a player have to play the position I have him in the lineup for that day to earn his points? For example I guess Hinske is going to be playing in the OF from now on but I have him in the 1B slot still. Will his points count?
