But it is the one option that actually works within the rules of the league. If you broke the team up and put everyone on the wire, the "draft" would essentially consist of teams using their waiver priority to take the best available player. I've been holding onto my number 1 priority all season waiting for the right player to come along, and lo and behold it's Jose Reyes. Teams should not be rewarded for crappy drafts and poor management. Team Victory took a closer in the 3rd round - of course he's in last place. I waited forever to take a closer, and I'm 2nd in saves. |
I don't want to make this discussion an argument or anything like that……….but…….
This was my first draft.
I got stuck (yes, I still feel I was cursed by this) with the #1 pick.
I'm sure I made plenty of wacky choices, but at the time of the pick, as well as with what I saw available and how other players were being snatched up, I did what I thought was best. Learn from the mistakes I guess…..
So just because I took a closer in the 3rd round (21st pick), that means I deserve to be in last?
After the 1st pick, I had crappy picks……plain and simple. Would I change my strategy for next year, absolutely. But for now, I don't see why my last place team that has not had ANY shot of getting even into 8th place would be a threat to anyone with getting first dibs at just one of those players.
I'm willing to bet that even if I got 2 or 3 of them, I'd still be in the bottom 5.
