Seems like we've gotten lost somewhere in the mix. Anybody out there from Bloomington/Normal, Champaign/Urbana, Decatur, Jacksonville, Lincoln, Peoria, or Springfield?

I know what you mean. I grew up just west of Peoria, and when I'm back visiting family, I don't see many VWs around.

Now we just need to get an inside man at the dealerships. Each time I go in, I feel quilty for asking for parts. I guess I always thought that if there was one guy that would understand enthusiasts, it would be the parts guy.

I'd like to see this thread make it past page two. The other attempts died off so early.

I wish that was the case at Suds. Although, (1.8t gtilove) has befriended the parts guy. I wonder what the trick is?

Id also like to think that there are alot more out there than just use 2 im sure if we keep it going more will come

The service guy (Jason) here is cool. He is a car guy who appreciates an enthusiast. If he knows you, he'll go out of his way to make an appointment and get you in.

I just check out your site. I like the 337!! Here is a pic of my friends old one. Had the option to buy it and turned it down. I keep kicking myself for that one.

Here is a pic from last summer:

I have yet to see another 337 in this area. I did see one 20th AE in town last winter, but that's it.

What's up guys? Glad to see this thread has some potential!

Good to hear the service guy at Green is down with the enthusiasts. I wish the rest of the VW folks were... At least the salesmen are cool enough to let me come in every few months and test drive the MkV Gti's. I think I scared one of them when I pushed it over 100 between Wabash and Veteran's.

No, just Helix projectors w/ angel eyes. Someday I would like to get a HID drop-in kit though.

Yeah, I saw that GTI. I can't believe they were asking that much. From what I gathered, all he previous owner did was chip it, maybe new crack pipe, new suspension, and new wheels.

I was upset they weren't test driving any of the R36's and that they only got in 2.

YEAH i know lol... the GTI they wanted 21,500 for it i got them to 17k but the payments were still high from interest

I went up there for a recall a week ago and noticed it was gone hopefully it got a nice home... and about the R32's one of the salesmen said that a guy had special ordered one and brought it back because it wasnt meaty enough for him i just laughed to myself

Just wanted to say that the parts guy at Green has officially earned a in my book.

I saw a red MkIV Jetta TDI sitting outside the service shop, possibly in the early stages of being 'tuned'. Talked to the service guys and they said it is owned by a Doctor... So just keep an eye out for it around town.

I'm definitely down for a GTG as soon as the temperature can get above 50 for more than five minutes!

The plan is to get a beater for a few years and then put some cash down on a b7 S4. I say that now, but next year we'll probably be having conversations about inter-coolers and down pipes for my GLI. I'm a big talker. Besides, the resale for used GLIs isn't that great. Might not be worth selling.
