That being said I took my car to Royal for my 10k service and not a single word was said to me about my mods... And theres no way they're missed that big metal APR Stage 3 turbo inlet. Obviously if I sling a rod out of the side of the block they're probably going to tell me to GTFO -then again I know they've warrantied at least one Stage 3 MKV GTI that popped a motor but that tech no longer works there - but im pretty sure if something like my waterpump were to fail they'd take care of it.

If you're worried about doing a tune and bolt ons just swing by Royal and talk to Terrence in the service department. I will pretty much only deal with him and he even specifically asked me when I brought my car in for the 10k if it was chipped or not so he could tell the tech not to flash my ECU. Let him know of your concerns and he'll probably set you straight about what they can or cant do.

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside. Run. He's fuzzy. Get outta here!

    Awesome.

Thanks for the info. I had read up a decent amount and I had heard this was a possibility. Thanks man!

Back in'00 my boss informed me that if the problem came from tuning (slinging rods, turbo imploding, etc) then you're screwed. But something like a WP failing was still claimable.

He based most of it off this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnuso...s_Warranty_Act

YMMV, and businesses still can find a way to weasel out of something if they want.
    Yeah, it's an 8v. If I wanted a sporty car, I'd buy an R.

I actually had to cite that with king Acura for a intake air temp sensor that failed on me with my Acura. Sent the car into limp mode thinking it was running wayyyy too hot. They said the intake caused the problem. Not so. Turned out the sensor plug itself was the problem where it tied into the wiring harness and they fixed it.

From what I have read for most folks the intakes really aren't needed unless going to stage 2 or beyond with APR. I'm wondering if anyone has any personal feedback regarding the VWR filter element and its k&n counterpart. Had k&n before. Didn't like the oiling part. Got a dryflow filter from AEM to go on my v2. Great filter. Leaning towards the VWR one simply because there is no oiling involved and these cars have a MAF.

TSI formula for win = stage 2 + downpipe

Probably the biggest gain per dollar -next to the k04-, 60whp and 80tq for about $1200 if you go with APR's downpipe or im sure you can find another brand for cheaper. That should hold you over for a while and the stock exhaust actually sounds pretty good with a free flowing downpipe.

...or the K04 is on sale through tomorrow

I'm over loudish exhausts. I had one on my Acura that combined with an intake was more than I could handle noise wise at the time. I'm very pleased with the tune and may just stay this way. Small stuff like short shifter and the filter might be all.

Looking to sell my truck that I never got started on.

I can get more pictures for someone that's interested, the truck is just in a barn an hour away.
Comes with the bed topper, and a bunch of parts in the bed, including a spare set of tail covers and 1.6D block.
The truck is a 1.6D manual transmission. It ran when I bought it, but needs work. Brakes are shot. Core support needs to be replaced. But other than that the body is pretty straight.
    Looking to get $1,000.

So bought the VWR filter last night. Went with it over the K&N due to not having to oil it. Oil + MAF apparently doesnt mix well.

Boost gauges in the left most vent. Thoughts? Looked at AWE and ECS ones. AWE looks a bit more finished than the ECS.

I'm not familiar with the ECS gauge but I have an AWE one I'll sell you, but I'll need your vent cover. It looks great, I get a lot of compliments on it but I honestly never look at. I've got the boost tap as well. Let me know if you want it, I'll need your vent cover though and maybe the hose that the tap replaces... But Im sure we can work something out.

Its not really the oil that messes the MAF sensor up. Its the idiots who over oil them. If you take you time cleaning and prepping them, then K&N filters are great.

In addition to my filter change today I'm going to remove this soundaktor as well just to see the sound difference.

Thank you for that. But in all seriousness. The only thing I can think of for it's use is to either quiet the intake noise or to distribute air equally through the box.

I'm pretty sure nobody from Huntsville post here. That's H2O territory.
