Hey, I hadn't seen anything on here about this, so I figured I'd post it, if there has already been one or so then let the mods delete it (Click pics for full size)
It also came with instrucktions on how to get a refund if you already had it done and it was under the warranty

My service engine light has been on now twice due to two different sensors, engine temp sensor and engine coolant sensor Lucky my car is still under warrenty and I got both of them fixed

I just got this letter in the mail today. I changed my coolant temp sensor over 3 years ago (went through my records). It's not worth the hassle of trying to get refunded if you did the work yourself, especially back when I did mine a new green top sensor and o-ring only came to $5.55 after tax, from the dealer . Now they are like $20

How the hell is a tuned ecu going to affect an coolant temp sensor? WTF.

I think it's just saying they won't fix any other probs you might have that arn't caused by the CTS.

My gauge has been reading inaccurately for a while now, but only by about one notch. I think now is the perfekt time to take it in

I've got a green top sensor sitting in my tool box unused, never had the balls to install it in the VR6

What is funny, is that when I got in my car after reading this my CEL came on.
Got is scanned, and it was the CTS
$18 later and no CEL. I'm not covered under that recal though.

jus got that letter yesterday...my temp gauge has been actin wierd to...warms up to temp, then drops one notch below wat it should be...you think an intake would void the warrenty on this?

Intake isn't related, so you are fine.

the letter comes with a seperate little for u fill out, and send to them.

will an intake, or boost controller, or hks bov, void the warranty?

None of those parts are related, so you should have no problems with you warranty.

Though, the letter says they won't warranty cars that have modifications. Not legal, but it may cause a headache.

  34. 02-22-2008 11:21 AM #34
cant i go show them my letter and get the new sensor, and just install it myself? or do they have to do it and inspect the car or what?

that would depend on the dealer.
Some will give you a new part, and save their techs some time,
some will insist that they put it on, so their techs can get some easy time under warranty,
and some will instist that they put it on so they will warranty the part.
