jus got that letter yesterday...my temp gauge has been actin wierd to...warms up to temp, then drops one notch below wat it should be...you think an intake would void the warrenty on this?

Most likely it's your thermostat, mine did the same. After I had the new one put in, the engine warms up quicker, too.

Just did mine with an AIT sensor too.... had a few weird boosting issues... all went away So happy!

    Question for idwurks....

What sensor you referring to by saying AIT sensor. I am wondering if I have same issue...

Could this be Air Intake Temperature, hope you can confirm. Were you able to see fault on it when running a VAG-Com scan.

I guess the prize on coolant sensor is driven by high demand. I paid total $6.05 for the sensor, seal, and spring, back in 2005.

Yeah, it's strange that they did not include all of the cars and years that came with the black sensor.

wait do you really have a sig that says you've been cel free for 3 days???

thats gotta be a record or something

    Yes, it is.

I've had 2x MKIV's since May of last year, and I don't think I've gone more than a week without one of them having a CEL for something. The GTI usually pulls a P0420 (post catalyttic efficiency below threshold) and the Jetta TDI was pulling off and on for the engine coolant temp sensor.

I just now having the issues with P0420 code, and my coolant temp sensor was done since last summer. It is still a misery
Unless the cat failed on the milltek exhaust that I purchased, other wise what could be the cause Have anyone experience this problem before??

Thank you so much for posting this. I was tired of looking at my CEL for this. Got an appointment to get it fixed tomorrow.

Does anyone know what CEL codes they are referring to?

I have p2181 and p3081 right now (both coolant system related) and am not covered in that recall because I have an AWP engine, so I need to know whether a new CTS will fix it or if I should go ahead and get a new water pump.

    Thank you for posting this.

Could anyone post the 3rd page where it gives the instruction on how to get a reimbursement if you've paid for the Volkswagen service?

    Really appreciate your help.

Is there a place online where I can order an ECT sensor from? Closest dealer is about 1 and 1/2 hours aways....
