Thread: Eurofest 2008 - Non-Profit Event in West CT

  1. 02-22-2008 08:25 PM #1
If you plan on attending, please add your name to the running tally, started on the top of Page 2

    Background

During our senior year, my high school has the students complete some sort of year long, culminating project. Of course, I chose to organize a large Euro get-together. I've been working on planning this all year and hope that many of you will be able to attend.

    Who's Invited

Eurofest will be open to all Euro's, whether it be VW, Audi, BMW, etc. However, there will not be a non-VAG category so any those owners will have to be turned away. (sorry )

    Time

Eurofest will take place on May 10 from 10 AM to 3PM.

    Place

The event will be held in Washington, CT at the Shepaug Valley High School parking lot. This should work well because we have access to all of their facilities such as bathrooms for no charge. If anyone needs directions, just PM me.

    Cost

The price will be $8 per car entry and $3 for general admission for those over 12 years old. Kids under 12 are free. For people bringing multiple cars, they will only have to pay once.

    Registration

Sign-up forms will be available the day of the show to fill out, but anyone wanting to speed up the process can print out the form and fill it out at home. Here is a link:

    Other Info

Since the show will be going on during lunch hours, I have arranged for Papa Joe's Hot Dogs to be present at the event. That way, no one will have to leave halfway through to get something to eat. Of course, you are welcome to bring your own lunch, but please no alcohol because we are on school grounds.

Music will be playing all day and we will have some nice donated prizes to raffle off to some of the cars in attendance.

Also, I have had t-shirts printed that will be sold during the event. If anyone would like to buy one beforehand so that you can wear it during the show, just PM me. They will be $12 each.

*BTW if anyone wants to volunteer to help direct parking, number cars as they roll in, sell t-shirts, etc. just contact me through one of the ways down below.

I want to get a large turnout for Eurofest because this is a non-profit event. All proceeds from the event, including admission and t-shirt sales, will be donated to the Senior Center in Roxbury, CT, which is my hometown. Support a first year show that is benefiting a good cause!

I'm sure I forgot a few things, but I just want to get the word out early so you guys can plan. So who's coming?

If you have any questions, you can just post them here, PM me, or email me at Eurofest2008@gmail.com

heres what i was thinking for the layout:

    Our Parking Lot

    Spectator Parking

I forgot to add this but the bathrooms are right inside the building south of the parking circle.

You guys probably can't see the sentence at the bottom of the second pic. It says "Main Parking for Spectators, About 45 cars can fit." Thats usually designated for the teachers, but the lot will be pretty empty on a weekend. Let me know what you think

awesome , I've gotten a huge response from guys on other forums. Right now this is up on: Vortex, Audizine, two sections on Bimmerforums, e46fanatics, Bimmerfest, and Audiworld. I'm looking for a decent Mercedes or Porsche to get it on too. We are probably looking at a pretty big turnout

Sounds like you are going to have a decent turnout.

Helps that ur posting in other non VAG forums, since Primer is def going to take away a few Dubs from ur show.

If something terrible happens that weekend and I cant for some reason make it to Primer you can count me in. (prob not likely though)

This is closer I guess .......

  27. 02-27-2008 12:31 PM #27
i would have probably changed the date if I could have. There were only a handful I could have picked from though since the school has things going on at other times

Not ur fault man, I mean ur show isn't the only one that "conflicts" with another show and it wont be the last.

I'm assuming ur going to have a good turn out either way.

How many cars you think are gonna be there?

im hoping for 100+ but we'll see. A bunch of e90 guys are organizing their own cruise from NYC/NJ so everybody seems pretty happy about it. Hopefully all goes well

You guys should print up some flyers and head down to Dubs on Defrost on Apr 5th.

It's going to have a huge turn out and you could promote your show there.

To everyone giving them flak for the date, this is a Saturday day event! Primer vets know that Sat at Primer is all about the hotel party. You could do this during the day then head to RI after or roll out to RI just for the Sunday (the real show day. Which is what I might do now that I think about it

This sounds like a good idea, maybe we can do that... get a cruise together from CT to Primer and swing by this show.... even if we cant make it i'd be down to give you the 8 bucks for the charitable event... but i'd really love to see some of those bimmers and stuff...
