There was controversy over that set because of the location. He was also just one of the really good photographers on there. Take your picture of the car in the grass and post it over there and see what they say.
So in other words what is said over on that forum is the end all be all of car photography....

Hey guys I read on the interwebs Al Gore made the interwebs! Must be true!

No it doesn't...but this is a great photo. One could argue that it does though. Back in the days when these things were made I am sure it wasn't too uncommon for them to be seen on drive in beaches, with a surf board strapped to the roof.

I take what is said on that forum more than this one when in comes to automotive photography, just the same as I take my VW advice from Vortex than diesel station.

The question is what are you looking for, a quailty photo or a great piece of automotive photography?

The picture of the bug is a good picture, but the paint isn't uniform and the composition is a little weak.

The last set of Webb's that you posted is amazing, without question, but the question was brought up could it have been stronger?

It's known as a 'rig shot'

Basically clamp a camera to the car, then push it for 10-30 seconds to blur the background. The fun part is editing out the pole from the images.

With the rig & dust spots left in:

Another with the rig cloned out:

I'm thinking it bends the rules because...

Thanks Mike, I figured as much but I figured I'd ask. I've taken pictures similar to that but with more editing to create blur, I should have thought a little harder about what I was asking before asking...

      What I've done before...

Now that I think about it all the ones I've taken at the 3/4 angle didn't turn out like the ones you posted... I need to look instead of glance...

      I'm a noob shooting film:

There are some of a Bonneville in Saratoga NY, my dad's old Nighthawk, the CM400E that hopefully will soon be mine, my buddy driving his Firebird, and some of the Montreal GP during qualifying. These pictures all come from the first 8 rolls of film I have ever really shot. My friend with a degree in graphic arts is going to start teaching me how to do these things right soon.
