I was hit head on by a drunk driver around 7:30am (how is someone already drunk by that time??). I was driving our 2005.5 Jetta and the other driver was in a 1986 Toyota pick up. German engineering FTW, though. His truck was much worse than our Jetta. I don't think there is enough damage to total her, but we'll see.

:-( I got hit 2 weeks ago too (above) and took the opportunity to toss in an R32 rear-end.... Maybe you'll luck out and have some upgrades in your future.

    Also preparing for SoWo......
    - New tires on, spare set of wheels on while I clean the Alphards
    - Headlights cleaned, bulbs changed out and retinted a little lighter this time
    - Air filter being cleaned
    - Oil pan swapped out for a non-leaking one
    - Bumper being resprayed Monday
    - Leather door cards going back on tonight

Now if only I could get the car on an alignment rack And still need to get that busted projector fog replaced.

Hopefully can get my coilover insert swapped out as well. Anyone know if the different brands of coilovers essentially use the same diameter insert sleeves? My FK inserts are on backorder(as usual) until August. But I have a set of front KSport V1s

Finally changed my wiper blades. 5.5 years and 106 thousand miles, they finally were just not doing the job anymore. So my theory has been proven if you clean these blades they will last quite some time. They still look brand new, no bends, breaks, chips nothing. They just dont wipe like they should anymore probably because they have worn down so far.

Also got my tire mess figured out. Turns out they didnt put the valve stem in right because the huffs have some weird way of mounting the TPMS with the valve. Got it washed and now I am happy for the weekend.

Nah...i can still see plenty of light coming through the IC even the smallest passages are still open. I'm sur if you cake 10 coats of paint on it you might restrict the airflow. All i did was some adhesive primer, 1 layer of paint and then cleared it.

The airbag didn't go off...I think it was too high of a hit. There's no radiator damage, but the radiator support is cracked (didn't get a chance to look at the condensor). The hood is folded a bit, one fender is pushed back, and a headlight is scratched. Do you think that would go above 5K? I wouldn't mind if the car were totaled. It has 105,000 miles on it.

Took my car to the dealership and stressed to the service guy how bad I needed the car back by monday afternoon. As I was looking at the golf R he came by and said hey were gonna throw in a free oil change.

This and some more painting down the drivers side racked up a bill of about $5500
Most of the damage was cosmetic but the washer pump and a few other internals were damaged

Yesterday, I picked the GLI up from the body shop (warranty hood replacement due to rust) and washed both the GLI and the R32.

    Mmm

Today, drove the GLI to work.
