Chapter 11 Dubs #85
2006 VW Jetta GLI 2.0L FSI Turbo :: Deep Black Pearlescent :: 6 speed manual :: APR Stage 2+ :: Southbend Stage 2 Clutch :: WRD Advantage Coilovers
Pulled the driver front coilover on the wife's R32 and found a bent FK shock body...right at the knuckle. Time to see how their customer service and warranty is.
Filled it up with gas
Installed a relay fog light wiring kit on it, and got my new wolfsburg fog grills on, it looks great now. Also plastidipped the wolfsburg upper grill, and it came out nice and matte.
Called the dealership to make my appointment to fix my cam follower which I believe is broken. Car is misfiring on two cylinders and recently changed all my spark plugs and replace the coil packs. Damn it

I may need to do one of these engine mounts. My car constantly feels like a train with horrible slack in it. If I dont go from brake to gas just right it kicks really bad from a stop. Engine sorta jumps around when you start it up.
My other other car has 2,000HP per axle.
Did you also have just the insert before? Was your reaction the same? Visually, I like what is there now as well. Haha.
the BFI mounts looks good in there...i need to do a battery relocation to clean things up.
Do you think the complete replacement mount is worth the extra $100 over the insert? (i know the billet will look better, but how about performance wise?)
since i am comparing my reactions of the OEM trans mount with the stage 1 pass. side motor mount and stage 2 subframe mount, i could feel a delay in shifting almost like i could feel the trans mount flexing under accel (as it was the weakest link out of the 3).
with the full set of mounts, there is much more vibration in reverse gear as well in the 1-2k rpm range. however it is very tolerable, but i do not think i would want to have stage 2 in my DD.
I have a terrible rattle coming from the dash/vent assembly when getting out of my first gear and some whining noise coming from the trans.
as far as performance goes....traction under accel is better, shifts are instant and smooth, everything feels solid and tight.
i left the transmission insert with the "additional stress" from the 2 other poly-mounts.... i was expecting it to be squished, but to my surprise it looked to be in rather good condtion . here is a of the oem mount @ 80k milesDon't do just one. Doing just one puts added stress on the others and that will cause early failure.
and idk wtf happened to the mounts shown in the BFI site with 40k miles
