Also found out that cheapo switch I been using for two years to turn my amp on and off shorted internally so now my amp is stuck on. Resulting in dead battery every morning. Looks like its time to figure out how to get this thing to work with my ignition/radio.
Wire it in to the fuse box

im taking the switch is the remote lead. You just need some kind of power source that is on when the ignition is on so you could tap into one of the leads in the fuse panel on the drivers side on the dash. You have to remove the side cover of the dash.

Washed it today and got a set of 5mm spacer. Tomorrow, doing work

Gotcha. I was thinking about my 12V outlet since that runs only when the car is on. I wish they were on all the time but I barely use them anyhow. Right now the switch is connected to the remote lead and grounded to the amps ground wire

there is a really nice underground parking garage that is cheap near the river.
you should check it out next time.

Replaced the DS axle. Noticed the sway bar end link was sitting incorrectly and under a lot of stress, so much stress that it would not come out so I had to cut it in half. I went to install a melye one I had sitting around from a previous purchase and I was surprised as it is over an inch too long! I'm only on eibachs but I guess after settling they are sitting pretty low now. Guess it's time for adjustable links, I searched and didn't find much on any good adjustable ones. Anybody have any recommended ones or any experience with the diys ones?

The OEM size is 335mm so if I'm an inch off I would need something that adjusts to around 310mm.

no ebachs use stock end links when you take the load off the sway bar it moves up you need to jack the strut assembly up to get the end link in

Today it was towed to the shop:

Ran fine all weekend. Went to start it this morning and it sounded like something came loose while it was cranking. Tried again and no start. Tried again and it started but was making a god awful racket under the hood (sounded like a diesel) but no CEL. 96k on the odo with all the regular service. Thankfully we still have 4k on the extended and I'm in a loaner (2012 Passat...nice car). Hopefully it is something easy.

doh! Makes sense thanks for the info I didn't jack it up. I knew something wasn't right because when I installed the springs I used OEM links just fine.

Put coils in the rear. All the way down perches still in. Didn't get to do the front...it began to rain as soon as i began to put the wheels on the back on.

But i think when i do the front im going to take the perches out from the rear.

finished making new tweeter pods for the doors. my tweeters were to big to fit in stock locations.
they came out pretty good. eventually i will take them back off and sand and paint one more time because when i was putting them back on, the paint cracked a little on the driverside one

Rotated my wheels and tires, did some paint touch up on them, replaced my hub centric and installed the 5mm spacer on the back. Next gotta readjust the rear perches since I can now really see how off they are

Drove by the shop to see my car still sitting in the same place it was on Thursday. I hate my mechanic.
Replica wheels are like fake boobs. They look good on the outside, but when it comes to quality, Nothing beats the real thing.

same thing happened to me. Tried to start it 10 minutes after just driving it and it wouldnt start made some noises. Tired the second time and started making horrible ticking trying to crank over and realized something broke (thinking timing chain skipped). Decided to just put a new engine in it. Still haven't figured out what was wrong with my original.

make sure you take your helpers out in the front then. if you go perches out you will never be able to reach that height in the front. what brand coils?
