haha, its a little more then 25 minutes. But, the jersey shore is definatly the hot spot so to say. full of drunks, guidos, thugs, and everything else running the streets with 1,000's of fake cops (seasonal cops, whom are teachers and stuff in the winter) acting like they have a point to prove.

    always a good time

well, probably like 40 minutes, give or take a few minutes.

But, if you want to be bored get a hotel closer. if you want to see tons of people parties clubs etc etc etc then go to good ol 'dirty jersey shore'

I'll be taking all my friends from FL to Seaside to check out the boardwalk. I wouldn't drive 2 hours to wildwood.

Pt. Pleasant is closer and definitely less "thugish", its got the sand, surf, boardwalk and TIKI Bar. Still about 40 mins. from racetrack factoring NJ traffic

Seaside is a complete **** hole. If you're not from a beach area and want to go enjoy yourself then go to Pt.Pleasant. Closer to E-Town, Cleaner, less likely to get in trouble. In the middle of the summer the Boardwalks and Bars/Restaurants will be packed anyways; but it's a good time.

The Sleazeside Boardwalk IS bigger.......but man that town is a ****ing **** hole to the limit. I'd never reccomend to anyone to go there if they only get a once in awhile chance at the shore.

Belmar is about the same distance as Pt.Pleasant; a couple of hot spots at night; but not too much going on otherwise.

Long Branch/Sea Bright/Monmouth Beach have a lot of chill atmosphere bars and clubs; but no Boardwalk so not as crowded.

Red Bank is nice; on the Navesink River and only about 15 mins to Sea Bright. Very upscale town; trendy and ritzy. Probably not for the Waterfest crowd; but it's an option and only about a 25 minute ride down some nice secondary back roads.

Overall though, for a shore experience, beach, food, booze, games, clubs, etc....Pt.Pleasant is a good bet.

Rt. 37 on a summer night in anything other than a Plain Jane car doing the speed limit is BEGGING to be given a ticket. Especially with out of state plates. Lots of DUI checkpoints on Rt.37 Corridor as well.

Again, Seaside is just a big boardwalk full of drunk and angry thugs. It can be OK until about 9 or 10 PM and then you walk around wondering which crazy ******* is going to jump you or try and pick a fight.

It's definetly worth checking out a list of shore bars from Sea Bright down to Sleazeside though; Shore Bars bring in some great bands during the summer so you might get to check out a good low-dough show too.

There are maybe 1 check point on Rt. 37 moatly in seaside are the check points- And thats for the better, it keeps the drunks from driving . So i dont see that as a down point(Unless driving drunk is your style...) And I live in Toms River and never have been stoped on Rt. 37. Must just be your driving ability.
