Thread: vwVortex Folding@Home Team!

  1. 03-16-2008 05:44 PM #36
Went out of town yesterday, left PS3 folding. In 2 hours PS3 will have completed 11 work units.

I agree about the Terminator thing, though. Between the wi-fi and the updating I'm thinking that PS3 is gonna sprout legs and kill me in the middle of the night.

Microsoft kills your 360 with the red ring of death before things get out of hand.

Sony on the other hand, those cheap shots. They make you kill your own system AND provide your own coffin too.

Did it give the time frame? That is probably per-unit.

if my physics class memory is correct, the unit 'watts' takes into consideration of time already which is per hour. I believe its: Power (W) = Voltage (V) * Current (mA)

its still alot of energy. but who am i to say, cause i've been folding like crazy.

I'm going on 32 I think. Thought I had more (for PS3). But I have been very busy and since I repainted my apartment (mainly my room) I had nothing connected. Will recheck my PCs and will sign everything into the team this week

so, people download a program that uses yur cpu power so scientists can simulate what protiens do?
    am i missing something here?
    whats so fun about folding?

The PS3 would need only 0.000003
    nanoseconds to calculate what your
    trying to do here.

Same here, been working all day. I might stop it tonight to watch I Am Legend on Blu since I've had it wrapped for like 2 days

Take it back, you can have my copy, I wish I had rented that instead of buying. Only BD I own, though.

I stopped PS3 a couple of times to rock the GH3 but other than that it's been working steadily.

I liked it I'm approaching 100 HDM titles owned too, have about 50+ HD DVD
From what all my buddies told me I would either like it or hate it. I'm one of those people who look deeper into the meaning of films so this was one I enjoyed. After I Am Legend I finished watching Seven Samurai, a really old black and white Japanese import with english subtitles, which I too liked

PS3 will be Folding all day again very shortly

Maybe I'll watch it again and give it another shot. The PQ and SQ are awesome.

I think I prefer the cheesy Charlton Heston version.

Not sure what that says about me.

Just run Folding@Home on your PS3. If you did it right, the team number should be displayed I believe. If not on the main screen, somewhere in the stats. I'ld have to check

Come on guys, we're sliding down the rankings. There's about 20 billion people on the vortex, surely we can do better than #12,000.

    +1

I got mine running last 2 days when I'm at work. Might have it work over the weekend
