i like your consistency on the bowls although you didnt mention a bowl before you started?

      What I did..

Finaly removed a stripped bolt from the oil pan but then another one at the back.. in the worst spot.. stripped.

Easy outs dont seem to work. I had to grind down a chizel and cut a slot through the bolt to remove it. I dont think my dremel will fit in the back to cut a slot in this other stupid ass bolt, i feel so set back

      So im kinda pissed

Well when the bowl comes before the work I usually forget to plug stuff back in haha, but one i had everything plugged back in The bowl was calling me haha.

Forgot to mention I also started polishing my wheels which arent technically things done to my mk3 but they will be a part of it eventually

Velly nice! I just acquired an early badgeless, primer, base sequoia, and clear coat. Taped off and ready for paint. Its going to be all sequoia though.

You doing clear or smoked ecodes?

Smoked. It looks so horrible on there now. I needed a change, it had too much green going on in the front. I needed the grille and mirrors to match, I'm weird about that stuff.

Rightfully so! Make sure to post a pic when you smack the ol' ecodes on. Once the weather warms up for good, my front end will consist of:

      -Full sequoia early badgeless
-clear ecodes (believe it or not I do have a line on some)
-european dummy panels (no more fogs)
      -amber turns

I was in a pickle between this setup and the setup you are about to have. Glad we wont be twins next season.

Bfi mounts in only I couldnt use the hardware for the passenger side mount because they were too long. Is this normal? Trans mount Saturday and exhaust next week. Im starting to get a lil burnt out with this buy a cheap car and renovate it stuff.

And then when im on the on ramp to the highway I punch it and wind out 3rd gear and hear that intake and the exhaust together in perfect harmony as it rips a humongous hole in the ozone layer and causes the spontaneous explosions of tree huggers faces . If it makes you feel better I have already spent more on maintenance parts for my car than I got the car for.

Which says something because I paid $2g for the car.

Hell yeah. I have some clear ecodes sitting at home! I was going to install them but decided against it.

Im well on my way also, but I'm not even half way done yet and spent mega chips on the vr6 and I've done all the work myself to keep it cheap. Jus not working out the way I planned. Im addicted. Maybe I should spend the money on rehab instead???

Same here. Bought mine for 3k and I've put more than that into maintenance and repairs over the past 5 years. Almost everything that can break/wear has been replaced though. Just 3-5 more things and it'll be pretty solid for another 10 years.

Shaved the drivers side of the bay for now. Fixing a 1cm rust spot turned into "well I'll weld up this." And it always snowballs from there. I'll get around to the pass side sometime in 2015.

      Hid the power steering reservoir.

Started making a triangulated strut bar.

I've had the car for almost a year and very soon the only things that will still be under the hood from the day I bought it will be the block, the alternator, the oil pump and pan, PS pump, and the evap system

      Replacing the entire coolant system
      Replacing all sensors
      doing a 16v head swap
      replacing engine internals
      getting a custom harness made

Then once my motor is tolerable, I will start on body work. I do the work myself, unless its something I can't do, than I have a friend who's pricing scheme is "What ever a shop will charge you I'll cut in half"

Checked my mailbox hoping to find a present, but not today. I'm sick of waiting for my euro switch from TMT. Ordered it way back in mid January, and it was supposed to be here by the 20th.

I already stopped caring about getting it to 100%, cause as I was looking for my DA, I finally found my flutted carbides I have been searching for.

Priorities changed right back to getting this head finished and on the car. I'll just rock a half shaved bay for a few monthes.

Took pops to the airport. Halfway through my seafoamed tank. Sitting at 6-minute red lights was fine, but the 30 seconds stopped at the door to the airport.. CEL came on. Can almost guarantee it's that evap leak again.

Just put a lot of work into it, but the shell is clearly rotting away. Fix it, and carry on? Start fresh?

Got new dummies, new HID bulbs, and fixed a lens on my passenger side fog light. Also cleaned and waxed the entire car inside and out then put it back in my garage until the weather gets nicer.

Those are the worst, I grinded the side of a socket so I could hold that with a big adjustable then put the 7mm allen key through the socket. Worst **** ever.

Take a 22 and use a set of vice grips to hold it. A long Allen bit through the center attached to a wrench and jerk on the vice grips.

Or get an electric impact if you don't have air.
