    Not yesterday, but not caring.

Changed out both tie rod ends today, and installed the Osram Silverstars. They're damn bright for halogens.

Before it's said, I know my car is dirty... I washed it the other day, and I'm tired of washing it when it gets this dirty from the car wash to the house...

    Tie rod end pictures...

    There's my problem:

    And that, caused this:

Switched the Audi Leathers for MK3 leathers and finally have an all black interior. Also installed TT Chip, love it.

Decided to give it its first bath since November. Wasn't really all that dirty, but I felt bad for letting it go that long. It was super lathery and washed twice just to make sure I got it all, then remembered I ran out of wax back in November. To the store I go.

I figure while I'm there and just about to hit the bottom of the fuel gauge and the fuel system cleaner didn't fix the mileage like it was supposed to.. I'd give this seafoam stuff a try. Whole bottle and 13 gallons of 93. Guess I'll see what happens.

Got home, waxed and about halfway through waxing realized what time it was. Crap.. the dew is about to start setting. Mad dashed putting the wax on and then taking it off. Only had to fight the dew on the roof just a tiny bit though. From what I can see in the darkness, looks pretty glossy all over.
We need a series like this state-side. I'm in if there is one, or will be one. VW Cup 2013, anyone?

Fixesthe shifter today! The part on the slider on the up and down linkage popped off from the previous owner. Could only get into 3rd and 5th from inside the car. Now I think I'm getting all gears. Car is still running rough. Replaced a fuse and now the sunroof motor works and the dash time stays up. Maybe the obd2 port works now so I can scan it.

This is a cheap a$$ mk3 gti vr6 I picked up a couple of weeks ago. Picked it up for a MK2 swap but I'm kind of second guessing the strategy and fixing it to sell.

My 97... prime runner. Waiting on cai. Tires. Rear struts. Front strut mounts.

Looked at compressor housing smashed against firewall heatshield
Sooo, I modified an extra set of the stock 2.0 engine mounts to lower the front of the engine 1/2". Now have 1/4" between compressor and firewall. Installed my own version of the old DieselGeek shift relay ball/block and aligned the shifter.

Those b6 seats at the top are bad ass.

Ripped apart a O2j trans to do some gear swapping and diff bulletproofing.

Look closer in the bell housing as I'm pre cleaning it, and see some welds from a crack from the diff letting go previously. Expecting the worst I split the case.

Nope, freshly rebuilt. New 3,4,5 gear set and synchros, and shift segments. And fresh new diff.

Installed a mk4 exhaust manifold and downpipe, put in my tt chip. Unbelievable how much of a difference the chip makes.

Always thought mk3 down pipe was a better choice. Mk4 down pipe has the cat built on.

2.0, mk4 header flows something like 8% better than stock.

The mk4 downpipe does come with the cat stuck to it, but the junkyard I pulled it from removed the cat. All I did was weld on the mk3 flange to the mk4 downpipe. The mk4 downpipe does sit a good amount higher than the stock one.

    Got ya..

Just beat down the block in the 96... this thing is faster than my schrick cammed. Schrick intake .. chipped 97 vr6

I bet it has huge cams. The 97 has smaller cams for future Turbo purpose.

got it back from the mechanic today
relized my cell was on this whole time due to the after market chip so i put the factory chip back in and the cel went away and passed inspection.
also changed the altenator and a few bearings. New trans fluid and adjusted the bushings on the shift cable so the car shifts much better.
    and new ebrake cables

im enjoying the car alot more now that i raised it up. its just slightly lower than stock but i feel the car looks great. all thats left is to change the tires and get a wheel alignment, corner balance and the car will have a new lease on life

So far.. I've got 47 miles on the tank and I'm sitting dead on the 7/8 tank mark. From past experience, 50 miles for every 1/8 on the gauge is 30mpg. The first 25 miles was a lot of +4k revs and quite a bit of WOT in 1st and 2nd. So if that combined with the second 25 miles being under 3k comes out to 30mpg, then there's definitely something good happening.

It's probably mostly the 93 octane. I'll know once I get to the bottom of the gauge. So far though, no CEL for evap issues, either. Usually that happens in the first 20 miles when I fill up.
We need a series like this state-side. I'm in if there is one, or will be one. VW Cup 2013, anyone?

Spent about $30 on 6.5 gallons of 93... Need to fix this dang fuel gauge... Stays buried on E.. I played with a pump at the junkie but it fell to pieces when I opened the cap. The Bentley doesn't have anything on this either..
