they havent made toyo t1r 195/40-45/16 in over 2 yrs now. Many people switched to Falken 512 205/40 which are available exclusively through discounttiredirect. I miss t1rs a lot but falken 512s look perfect.... next time around I'm giving in and getting actual performance meaty tires.

Well it was answered a few posts back, it's called a belly pan. I've been scouring ETKA and haven't found it yet, neither in the US or EU market. If the pictures had more pixels, I could read a part number off of it.
We need a series like this state-side. I'm in if there is one, or will be one. VW Cup 2017, anyone?

205/40/16 BFG Gforce KDW's happen to stretch PERFECT, and are GREAT street rubber.

Too $ for most of Vortex's shallow pockets though. Going from 512's to kdw's is going from the worst available, to best.

Did the other side, so now we match:

Found some rust while I was in there...

Up until this point I have found no rust of note, besides two minor blemishes: one tiny little bubble below a tail light, and some on the fuel filler flap.

Telescopic magnets are good for many things:

That is interesting. I am 100% buying tires this winter and have some time to do some research. Maybe I'll bump my tire thread.

Odd thing though once I started it up. Gauge was stuck down on E and then shot up to 3/4 for about 2 seconds, then dropped to 1/2, went back to 3/4, E, then stayed at 3/4. Drove it for a few minutes to see if it would do anything weird again, but it was doing the time-average slow move toward 1/1. Stopped somewhere for an errand, and did the digital tach trick since I know that makes the fuel gauge go in real-time, and it was pegged at 1/1. Don't know.
Happened again. 14.116 this time. It stopped at 5/8 for about 5 seconds, then dropped to 3/8, then went up to 1/2 and stayed there. I watched that before starting it up. Did the digital tach trick again without starting and it was still at 1/2. Started it up and it dropped just a hair, and when I started rolling, it shot up to 1/1.

I know there's weird issues with solder joints in the cluster, but does that sound like that issue, or is the sending unit being dirty more likely? Only does it when I fill up.

Not to the car, but to the wheels I've been hoarding over the years:

I took them and dismounted the tires so I can sell and ship the wheels.

How about crap I should've done yesterday like change the control arm bushings, change the rear bushings, new bearings in the back, put new gas tank straps on, change the oil pan gasket, clean it. Oh the list goes on.

But I did manage to pull off those stock 15 year old springs and dampers and exchange those with coilovers and the normal treatment of new bushings. But then I was bein dummy and forgot to use the thin nut off the originals in the front so I'm ridin around makin all kinds of noise till the morning. But I'm still not adjusted to my liking so ain't no stance here yet. But it will come. Had a mysterious leak in the trunk and couldn't diagnose it til I took out my tail lights to drain the water out of them that I could see the very thin foam "gasket" on the backside of them was not seating properly against the body or the tail lights. So I remedied that.

And I also decided that its gonna be 18's not 15's, 16's, or 17's. Everyone has those sizes and the same wheels. So what do I do? Do it a little different!!

Got all the interior parts back in (A, B & C Pillars, center console and rear seats), fixed a really slow leak in one of the front strut fittings, headed to the junk yard and grabbed a bunch of rear bumper clips then got the rear bumper modified so that it would stop hitting the tires when I aired all the way out.

All in all, a productive weekend. Didn't get everything I had wanted to done for H2Oi, but she's back together and looking good so now I just anxiously wait for Thursday and the drive down to Ocean City.
