'Required fuel', 'different car'
...it's just a volkswagen,
just put 87 octane gas in it, it will run just fine.

Ya it runs but at what cost? Gas isn't going down in price. If you can't afford it now, you're better off getting a different car.

gotta co-sign with you guys....most people just see it as paying more..instead of thinking it out to show a $2 difference...and with the mileage you get in a jetta..its should be alrightI get 34 mpg when I was only getting 20mpg in my WRX...so im alright with the 91 octane

You guys have it made. I went from a 29 MPG GLI to 18 MPG B6 S4. I'm up to about $75 bucks a week in gas driving conservatively.

Seriously. Is it really worth saving $2 to have your car run poorly?
#25
I drive a 1990 chevy s10. It costs me $50 to fill up on 87. I only get something like 12-15 MPG. I can't wait to start driving my 20th.

^^^^^ i think your lying.... bc gas stations dont make hardly any money on gas and for him to pay half well he would be basically be paying for your gasand you i both know thats not happening.
#29
Its true haha. I swear. I should edit my post and say sometimes, because I fill up once a week. And im pretty sure hes not going to do that for every week.

I agree. And if you kids would slow down and stay out of boost, you can get ~400 miles per tank.
#34
I won't sacrifice a lower octane for the gas prices...i'll just start riding my bike......seriously.
...and if you think we've got it bad here in the U.S. ....try filling up in Duestchland paying per liter
