Turn your tune off and you'll be fine. That's what the 87/stock mode is for. All tunes have it.

Also octane boost should be put in on a almost bone dry tank so as to get even distribution in gas when filling up. Your stock tune will be fine if you do what Tiggy is doing and drive conservatively.

The GTI has been tucked away in the garage for about 2 weeks. We have been driving the JSW to work and I have been putting some miles on the bike.

Octane booster doesn't do anything, only raises overall octane for the tank a tenth or two. Keep it in stock mode and out of boost.

First tank of 87 this week. I miss shell V-Power. Gas attendant told me to use booster when i asked for premium. I'm just keeping RPM below 2500. Also let engine idle for a minute before turning it off. Hope everyone is hanging in there miss the meets lately

    Are you sure?

Doesnt the stage 2 tune disable the CEL for the exhaust?

I would assume a CEL would come on when in stock mode with a DP.

Same here. I stayed outta boost & watched my a/f ratio. I also kept a max of 2-3 gal. of 87 in the tank just in case i came across a station that had 93. I manage to get Sunoco 93 day before yesterday so i filled up I'm about to go top it off while its avial. (Sunoco on Granny rd. & 112 ftw...)

I haven't bought mounts but I've heard the ones from bfi are good for the price.

If you guys are still having problems getting higher octane fuels, toluene is a really easy and cost effective way to raise your octane level. Toluene has an octane rating ([R+M/2] method) of 114 so a 1:5 ratio in 87 octane gas will raise its octane level to ~93.

Thought i'd let you guys know of this little trick just in case this gas issue continues longer than expected and the parts places run out of octane booster.

What happened to everyone collaborating and collectively picking the design for the hoodie? I personally don't like the design because I feel the emphasis on 2007 is just too much.

I've sent the logo out to everyone today and I have had only one complaint in regards to the design to be honest. That is over 12 hours of work what you see.. So please let us know what you would want to see on the hoodie or zipup? Everyone is going to have a difference in opinion and I agree that we should all want to rock the gear.. you need to come to me with more than I don't like the logo..You need to send me some solutions of what you would like to see incorporated instead or what you feel you would want on the hoodie?

If I have to make another design, I'm cool with it.. I just want to know what specifically you want to see? I've been collecting what members have talked about at the meets and the homesite now that we are on tapatalk..

I can totally understand that. I just recall you saying we were gonna collaborate as a group on a design and wasnt aware of that happening. If everyone is happy with the design than great. As I stated previously I just thought there was too much emphasis specifically on the back of the hoody with the 2007. My suggestion would be to keep the front logo to show when the club was established and then maybe switch up the back with the logo you created for h2oi with the compass. I feel that would look pretty cool and also incorporate that the club was established on Long Island by having that nautical theme. Again just my input...

    How bout something like this?
Modify the h20i logo. Ill be easier since you have it on file already.
Small logo in the front left breast and strength thru unity in the back or logo in the back and small strength thru unity on front left breast.

I used to do this back in the day to make homebrew race gas. You can use toluene or xylene (117 octane) to bump up the octane to around 102-103 safely. They sell single gallons at Home Depot and Lowes, and 5 gallon jugs at Sherwin Williams and other paint specialty stores. Add a capful or two of ATF to the tank, as both of those have zero lubricity and need a little help with cold starts. Here is a calculator for combining gas with additives to figure out final octane rating: http://www.serioussolutions.com/evo/octcalc.htm

I am with the guys on this. I love the h2oi vinyl so much I still rock it on my car. Having it on a sweatshirt would be awesome.

Also tonight I will be dropping the jetta off at donaldsons. Getting it back hopefully Wednesday. Where we meeting to go to Black Forest?

Great info on the home brew race gas! I haven't done that since the WAM days.

Kevin, great job on the hoodie! I like the nautical theme alot and I'm kinda biased to the 2007 origin though

tiggy have you gotten a cel yet? i switched over for precaution anyway. the last time i went to stock mode an hour later the cel went on after i started the car a second time. it has not yet done this again and when i checked the cel code the first time
there was no fault code, and it cleared no problem
