Mint condition German 1979 rabbit GTI, very fast and fun to drive. 5 speed manual original Tranny with nice gear ratios, 1.8L 8v German engine from Jetta Carrat with less than 100,000kms. Have done all the required mechanical maintenance a 1979 GTI requires. New springs, shocks, clutch, brakes, tires, wheels, drive axles, battery, reupholstered original GTI front bucket seats, CD player, factory sunroof and alarm. Upgraded rad with overflow tank (not shown in picture) and oil cooler. Also lots of extra VW parts I've collected while restoring this car.

Has been a project of mine for 6 years. Love the car but feel it's time to sell due to a lack of time spent driving it and insurance is expensive just for a handful of drives a year. This car deserves to be driven more.

Aircare is not a problem for this car, I have all the receipts and reports. I am the second official owner of this car and I have the original owners manual.

Whoever buys this car will be quite pleased.

      Asking $5,500.00

yeah, 1979 Rabbit GTI, have you not heard of this? In 1979, Volkswagen sold a GTI model to the Canadian market. This car is one of them. It is not an ordinary rabbit done up to look like a GTI. It is stock with dual exhaust down pipe header, 5 speed manual transmission, GTI trim, black headliner, black seats with GTI plaid pattern, sunroof, RPM tack, oil temp gauge and a few others that I can't think of right now.

      Guys,

It is indeed a Rabbit GTI. Golf GTI is the name of the european version. The Canadian version came in Canada only (not USA) in 1979 and it was called "Rabbit".
