First bike, just got my license a few weeks ago and decided, like everyone everywhere says a 500 would be a good first bike. In the car I tend to be a little aggressive and quick so having less power was actually a benefit to me right now. And this one showed up on CL at a killer price!
Might do an exhaust/intake/jet kit in the spring, it really depends on how long I plan to keep it. The fact that even at 20 y/o insurance is less than 30 a month is incentive enough to ride it ti'' it dies (and with 3k miles that could be a while.)
First, my ZX7R -97. Not the fastest, lightest and most nimble bike today - but boy it has soul, and sounds great. Great stable bike, the feeling riding the legendary ZX7R is def. one of a kind. I think I'll never sell this one, unless I'm getting an ZX7RR or the older ZXR750R. The sound from the ninja 750's... pretty unique compared to the other inline fours. No mods except akrapovic full system. A set of Keihin FCR 39 mm or 41's is on the to do list
And my Hornet 600 -08. Great all rounder, but still... I like the ZX7R more, even if they're pretty similiar performance wise. I love that the Hornet starts all the time, while my ZX7R needs a lil more loving from time to time to run great hehe. I'm selling this one in the future to replace it with the CBR 954.
