Modded my bike earlier

I have a sticker in the same spot as you...same exhaust set up as well..I also have taken my passenger foot pegs off. I found blots to put in to clean it up a little more.

I do. Although nothing showing the suspension setup. He's a huge Triumph guy and has half (most?) of their accessory catalog on his bikes. Arrow exhaust too. Sounds great when he takes off on us.

as much as i love this 1000cc beast, i kinda wanna try something different now.

Ah, the original monster. I used to have one. I loved it (although I always thought it was a bit ugly, still do, especially with the R1's around). The only problems it had, as I recall, were:

1- Horrible front brake (especially at the track, fade showed up quick). A Brembo swap would fix that issue.

2- Not terribly agile. The next generations fixed the agility issues 10-fold.

3- Pegs were very high to be a commuter. Adjustable rearsets were a must on her. I hated the riding position until I replaced the rearsets.

4- I remember the "gold" on my front forks starting to flake off after only a couple years of owning it.

5- Gearboxes went "bye bye" a LOT, especially if they were tracked used.

Great bikes, otherwise I owned it alongside a 929RR and sold it for a 2001 R1, which was better in almost every way (especially the looks department). Like all bikes, I do kinda miss her though

thanks, im happy with it, thus far. night and day from the 600.

having read your problems with yours, i can honestly say it makes me more happy with mine now.
i have none of the issues you had.
I mean, i dont track it so, the agility i suppose isnt an issue for me, since i dont race it, i just enjoy the ride.
and ive had no gold flaking. the bike is in pristine condition for being 10+ years old now.
and really dont find it that uncomfortable to ride, and ive gone on some long rides...its not cruiser comfortable, but im content.

as far as looks go, its preference, i like this bike over the R1 myself.
to each his own.
