Yes, the fenders are the same for both Jetta and Golf 3's

"must be nice to build a car at half price"

They probably do have connections with their vendors, but the car is purpose built- to generate morebusiness in our slowing economy. As fun as the car might be, it is also a promotional tool.

what do you use to cover up the side mirros. bad ass ride.

10. 08-30-2008 01:52 PM #35
We made mirror blanks but opted for mirrors in the end for practicality sake

No, it was a Vinyl textured square cut down to size. They turned out quite well but were not conducive to daily driving in traffic

ok thanks. im still in high school and im wantin to turbo my jetta but i have a tt 260 cam in it. is it alright for me to run that cam if i turbo it and whats better to peice a turbo system together or buy a kit because im on a tight budget.

14. 09-03-2008 10:45 PM #39
thats the perfect cam for it.
i built mine from scratch but id say buy a used kit.. check the forums on hee in both forced induction classifieds and your cars classifieds.. there is a complete kit for like 850 on here shipped plus you will need the injectors and chip from c2 and install it and your done.

15. 09-03-2008 11:25 PM #40
ok thanks man. how big of injectors should i run cause this is gonna have to probably be daily driven.

Love this ride, one of my fav all time colors "ginster". And the aba in my opinion the most economical and reliable engine ever offered by vw. Plenty of power and reliability for the street. Props to BFI Whats up Adam? It's Joey from IMPEX. See ya at H20 brotha!!!

I'm getting started-
Here's the "donor"
(pic below in after/before shots)
Already did the Cup Kit (SS), so I'm working in an upgrade clutch for the ABA (BFI has it!), and replacing ther rear drums with discs. Got a set of lights ordred a la MkIV, and have already stripped the interior. I should've bought all these parts when you were in Atlanta for DubFest III!
Thanks for the "prototype"!

21. 11-12-2008 01:38 PM #46
The grille pictured is not a two piece grille, but rather has been masked and painted body color. You can find it listed on our website HERE

Nice work guys. This is a "model" of sorts for TGHP (The Green Hornet Project) which is our club car. Started life as an ugly stock 98:
After some of our mods:

BEFORE any TLC:

Thanks for the inspiration!
OK guys, start making that 25mm RSB again. I need one for track days!
SO far, we've got the following:
cup kit (60/40)
rear disc brake and axle swap
stripped
new axles up front
polys
swiss cheese
TMT cup mirrors
yadayada- more to follow
