Got my dual downpipe today, now I just gotta cut off the old downpipe and make a new one. Destroyed the heatshield getting it off lol, pliers, hammer, and a torch.

Anyone know where I can get a gasket for under $35?

Which gasket- the DP to the manifold, and or the DP to the cat? I have the gaskets (both of them) you need, if you can wait until we can connect for them. Otherwise, go to autohausaz.com for them, or wherever the others are telling you to check.

Scott, I just tried to call you. I'd like to come along for the trip, there's some things I'd like to look for. Gimme a shout or let me know where I can join the convoy.

    What do u need?

Oh and phil, I bought the DP from Seb. Have you ever seen his red Rabbit GTI with a roof basket? Interior is clean as hell. Exterior is really nice too.

Scott, I need the gasket to the manifold. I'll buy it off u tomorrow if u bring it. Then I get to attempt to fab up an exhaust I'm gonna connect to the catback exhaust thats on now. I was thinking about a true dual exhaust out the sides but I need it inspected first

ask scott.. he knows... possibly another cluster.. the one I replaced the first with still doesn't track my miles right.... I mean .. it counts em' when it wants too..

Your gear in the back of the cluster is probably broken. Its in the Mk1 FAQ how to fix it. I need to do mine too, mine doesnt do it at all. Do you need it for inspection?

yeah it needs to be working for inspection.. I was hoping that when they decided to drive it around it chose to work at that time but with my luck it will count a couple.. then none... then a couple more..

I haven't done much more to the car.. I do wanna get this switch to get the fan to run earlier ... that motherfo runs hot and in the summer it's even hotter!! I wish I could fix the air condition..

Don- tried to speak with you during band practice, but the mates suck nuts and don't stop doing their own thing, even after I yell. Anyway, check the link- it's easy to get there. Call me when you do get there, same with Steph and her crew.

I'll bring that DP gasket for you kraut. It's only like 800 bucks or so.

I'll keep an eye out for clusters and such for the cabbie, Missa. (I have no idea where you got that cluster I replaced for you, so you can't pin it on me! )

I" hear tell theres a Scirocco up thar... " I claim Taster's Choice on whatever is decent in it! Mine mine mine...

I plan to be on the way by 7:30, give or take a minute or two. ETA is 8- 8:18 AM + or- 3 minutes.

No prob. You prolly won't see this til after the fact, but I'm gonna meet up w/others near Cabelas. I can even lead the way from there...looks fairly simple, plus I remember scoping out a house out that way when I was still a New Jerseyite looking to flee.
