I drove the car to work this morning. It's running really strong and pulls really hard all the way to redline - I credit the drop in compression.

The trans shifts butter smooth, side to side reduction is awesome with the gruven shift linkage shifting to fifth gear is where all the difference is. No more passenger knees is the way.

The LSD is probbaly my favorite part right now, other than the shear thrill of driving a corrado again for the first time in almost a year.

No doubt there will be more pics as other people have time to upload them from the weekend, but here's one more pic from the show:

I think the inch of dust I had on it over the year it was out of commission somehow protected the patina. A good high res pic does do wonders though.

Today, fixed the a-pillar gauges and inadvertently also fixed an unknown boost leak, test drove the car and ... let me tell you, it moves.

got drunk, and decided to play with some super glue and install my polished gauge bezle rings:

probably not, not right now anyway. i'm going to turn it up from 8 to ~15psi and see how I like it. honestly even at 8psi it's plenty fast for me tooling around town.

The only thing keeping the Corrado from being a reliable every day driver are cooling system issues. The entire cooling system is esentially brand new and yet, since it's been back on the road:

      1. The cooling fan motor only works on low speed and wont turn on automatically.
      2. The lower radiator hose popped off driving down the high way and dropped ~4 liters of fresh G12 coolant on I75. (i wish it wasnt so expencive - it wouldnt be such a big deal)
      3. Lower reservoir hose leaks (drip drop) from a razor line sized cut. I've noticed these cuts on the upper radiator hose as well and suspect them to be a manufactures defect.

As luck does have it, every time I've droped liters of coolant I've been somewhere close to help. Here we are at Johnny B's house duct taping the lower resevoir hose.

      Duct tape to the rescue!

there isnt enough beer in the state of Michigan that could make feel better about what just happened.

busted radiator neck! and this, not even minutes after another 2 liters of fresh G12.

That Blows! Just put water in the system untill you can get everything just right then put the g12. I've had this happend before now I ALWAYS put water and run with that then change it.

the radneck was the only thing that wasnt BRAND NEW in the entire coolant system - I didnt bother replacing it cause it was only a year or two old.

      ordered the Gruven piece.

I havent made it out to the WAB yet for that. Maybe this would make a good trial run after the Gruven neck comes in.

Not really a late model 92 (10/91 #004986) according to the VIN registry page I'm on the first half of the '92s. I didnt do anything to the cluster aside from add the bezel rings, so I'm not to familiar with the details of early/late model cluster changes. If there was a swap done it was done by the previous owner (two other than me).

My cluster does have the vacuum sensor on the back side of it, which was only on early model cars as far as I understand. The plot thickens.

      Pretty sweeeet thread, dude.

Was looking for good t-shirt idea, I think this sums it all up for us at http://www.GruvenParts.com :

As for your rad neck woes, been there, done dat. Sux even more when you sit out a track day at Road Atlanta

Which is why the BILLET RAD NECK was born :

      http://gruvenparts.com/website...id=60

This part is designed to replace the weak plastic factory radiator neck (prone to cracking and dropping chunks in your radiator over time). We closed the book on this part, and it will never need to be replaced again. "Wife-beater" t-shirt not included.

      Keep us all posted !!

I'm going to build it with out a resinator for now, but I might end up adding one. Ultimatly I want to keep more of refined speed sound.

QUESTION: Will the single Borla sound sexy enough with out a resinator? If not, can any one recomend a resinator brand (has to be 3in)?

Great looking and what a build.

This past week I been cleaning and washing the engine parts since I have them all on a shelf while I want to get my block back from the shop. Trans is power washed and cleaner but not even close to how you got yours.

A bit of a question how did you make you intake turn out the way it did. Polish and paint? I am looking for help since it looks really good and I prefer the dark look rather than the polished aluminum.

Small note I have not driven my corrado ever. Got it in a nonrunning condition and it will take time before being ready for the road again. First step engine than move to suspension and finished with the exterior/interior.

So much to do so little time and money to do it with.

I didn't do the manifold myself, I bought it from Todd (vintageempire) here on the tex. The manifold was polished and smoothed in places/corners and then powder coated "mirror black".

You can achieve the mirror finish by just sending your manifold off to a powder coater, they're is no point in going super crazy on the polishing job because the coater will have to sand blast the parts anyway.

That manifold is my souvenir from my road trip to SoCal, kinda has sentimental value.
